What Krisna meant was Rian/Yoke will be playing 3 weeks from now If I predict correctly, Rian/Yoke, Fran/Rendra, Andre should be competing in the Asian events that offer chunks of ranking pts in April: India Open (1-6 Apr) and Badminton Asia Gold GP (15-20 Apr) events. With good performances in both events, there's a chance Rian/Yoke will enter the top 16.
Andre will go to India too... Fran-Rendra will go with a sizeable Djarum contingent to compete in the Polish and Finnish International Challenge... PBSI have not decided on who shall represent INA in the Asian Championship Gold GP... so although it is possible the shall choose Rian-Yoke and Andre, it is not announced yet... Actually, it makes the most sense for PBSI to use the Asian Championship to watch the performances of Rian-Yoke, Bona-Ahsan, Joko-Hendra AG, and Fran-Rendra... they are the 4 toughest MD pairs in INA below Kido-Hendra, Luluk-Alven, and Candra Wijaya... The most impressive can be the backup MD in the Thomas Cup team... Likewise, send Andre, Tommy, Alamsyah, and Ari Yuli Wahyu to see which one of them are worthy to be 4th MS to complete the INA Thomas Cup team...
So, it will be PBSI footing their bill, instead of Djarum ? I saw Rian/Yoke, AG/Joko, Bona/Ahsan's names in the Indian Open.
Rian-Yoke finished as quarterfinalist at the Indian Open yesterday. They lost to Xie-Guo, CHN's #2 MD... Not an bad result for them, but not above expectations either...
I would say its an expected result for them, given that they have to face China's 2nd MD pair in the India Open QF. What they will need is to grab some wins over the top 10 pairs this year and make their way there also.
Guo-Xie just defeated LYD-JJS... apparently these guys have really improved... I don't feel so bad for Rian-Yoke now... even the All England champs lost to Guo-Xie this week...
I think the results are not bad for Rian-Yoke. Tomorrow they're going back to Indo... Have a safe trip...
U should feel even better today considering that Rian/Yoke lost to the eventual champion With the QF placing in the Indian Open (which I really think is a decent performance), Rian/Yoke WILL BE in the top 20 by next week! Well done guys!
Good prediction, badMania! 19th it is. Not as fast as Rian-Eng Hian's rise last time, though. Those guys reached #8 after 12 tournaments, I remember...
Interview with Rian Sukmawan What do you think about the practice here? It's good, but I needed more. How would you cope with the boredom emerge from non stop practice session? By watching TV, hanging out, playing video game. How important is the involvement of other players and the officials with a player? It is very important. Regardless the fact that we won or we lost a match, we still have to evaluate the said match. In your opinion, what are the requirements of a champion? Trains very hard, don't be easily satisfied, and pray hard. Do you have any special tips to improve mental condition before an important match? Relax and pray before performing on the court. What do you feel when becoming a champion? I'm very happy. What would you do on your free time as an athlete? Hanging out, traveling and listening to live music. What's you family's opinion about your career as a badminton athlete? They give me full support. As an athlete, what is your unfulfilled goal? To perform and gained gold at the Olympic.
