Yes, there is a break for the 1st & 2nd round. I believe that they wanted to give the supporters who are working a chance to catch the good matches.

He he he, so can Birdwood, the woodpecker birdy.:D
On your earlier post about flying off to the courts, unfortunately, I take the public bus, which is famous for testing one's 'waiting' abilities, by the time I get there, I'll be too tired to play.... ;)
That's why I said bf, this eagle not as passionate as some of our fellow BCers about baddy & also why I walk fassstttt.

Haunted abode? :p No. I like to stay among nature, in Sofitel Senai most probably. Haven't confirmed yet.

As far as I know, there's no online booking. Last year, ticket sales was 'kampong'style, just buy off ticket sellers at the entrance points.
Don't worry, I'll get one set for you. Do you want a season ticket or specific days?If you can't make it at the last minute, I'll pass it to someone else.

Yup, Senai Airport is still there. Right beside Sofitel Senai. I like it 'cos it's a cheap world class hotel, compared to the rest. The hotel is never fully booked 'cos it is quite a distance from JB City. Only popular among nature lovers, Golf enthusiasts and bargain hunters.

Since the ABC championship is under Asian Badminton Federation, it shares website with badmintonasia.com

First I thought you were to stay in the woods (didn't know what Sofitel Senai meant) With all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, I'd call it classy :D

Maybe on weekend there would be less crowded on bus? Bring a book to read or keep doing warm-up exercises while waiting may help. Don't tell me you're tired so easily, you always talked about players' stamina in your posts :D

Was shopping in Johor Bahru yesterday (Sunday). The players have already arrived. Bumped into the Japanese Mens Doubles players at Plaza Pelangi.

Singaporeans taking public transport to attend the finals next Sunday should be prepared to walk across the Causeway back to Singapore. The queues at the bus terminal (before Immigrations) were :eek::eek:

Well, it's practically in the woods, with access road to Airport linking it from outside world.

When I was there years ago with my family, one of Malaysia's popular young entertainers, Mawi, stayed in the hotel to run away from his fans. Serves him right for having an open house by inviting fans all over the country to celebrate our Hari Raya festivals.

And pjswift is right, we either have not embraced technology or are consistent enough to have online ticketing for all events, only the major ones. ABC is not big enough to be called major.
