For those who can't read Chinese. According to the web, they claim to be the OEM (it does not say for which brands) since 1987, and from 2004 they decided to come out with their own brand of rackets, with the focus on local (Taiwan) market.
Dr.Pro is a relatively new brand in Taiwan comparing to others. Since its debut in 04, they have attracted a bunch of young users immediately due to their lower prices and above-average quality. Nowadays, some local badminton clubs and schools uses Dr.Pro rackets, and they have a small share in TW's badminton market.
A friend of mine uses Dr.Pro rackets. I have tried the Dr.Pro grip and found it very good and very affordable at $1 a piece
A few of our members at the George Brown College Badminton Club carry Dr. Pro rackets because one of the former college players is now working as a rep in Taiwan. I haven't seen or heard anything negative with their rackets and they are fairly easy to string with since all the rackets have their shared grommets flared off.
No, that's just the MSRP, same thing with Yonex ones as well. People never pay things at the sticker price. In fact, Dr.Pro offers a very huge discounts through their points of sales.
