ya, you are right. Infact he can enter quater final i am happy enough already. people just dont know how much he had suffered and he has been thru now. May be they think Bonsak is nothing ang KBH is just winning by luck.
Let's see if he can overcome AS today. If he can do it, then I wud say he is back on track. He shud be sent to more SS to improve his confidence and ranking.
I don't think it was Luck that KBH won yesterday. He played to his potential. Never give up and chase all the shuttles and played patiently. KBH was a better player yesterday.
Absolutely agree. The game had nothing to do with luck. It was mainly the endurance n determination from KBH that won him the game. Period.
too back he lost to Andrew Smith this evening... and it's true he is coming back on track from his poor performance previous year...
KBH's been in the doldrums for 2 years since the TC lost in 2006. Before he couldnt even get past qualifiers. It's a confidence boost for him though he lost to Andrew Smith. Not fully overcome but a breakthru of sorts, hopefully in future more breakthrus to come.
KBH featured in the media : NST Badminton: Giant-killer Beng Hong KUAN BENG HONG LEE Chong Wei took a giant step towards capturing the elusive crown while Kuan Beng Hong turned giant-killer in the US$200,000 Aviva Singapore Open at the Indoor Stadium. Chong Wei's 17-21, 21-5, 21-9 win over compatriot Wong Choong Hann yesterday sets him up for a quarter-final clash with Denmark's Joachim Persson today. Beng Hong, after dislodging defending champion Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand 15-21, 22-20, 21-17 in a match which lasted one hour, now plays Englishman Andrew Smith in the last eight. "It's not always easy to play someone you know so well. I am very impressed with Choong Hann's performance and his ability to stay among the world's top 16 despite his age," said Chong Wei. "He is a credit to the sport and today (yesterday) we saw how good he can be, especially in the opening game. But it was obvious he was tiring in the second and third." "I now have to stay focused if I want to win the tournament. I feel comfortable and as long as I don't lose my concentration, I think I have a good chance of going all the way," added the Malaysian World No 2 whose best performance at the Singapore Open was runner-up to Kenneth Jonassen of Denmark in 2004. But the spotlight was on Beng Hong who came through the qualifying round and then beat teammate Muhammad Roslin Hashim in the opening round on Wednesday. Yesterday, Beng Hong's stamina was a telling factor against his Thai opponent which helped book his berth in the last eight. "There was no pressure on me to win today (yesterday)," said Beng Hong. "After all I was the underdog and Boonsak is the defending champion, but as the match wore on I felt confident and winning the second game gave me a real boost. "In fact, towards the end of the match even when I was down 7-13 in the third game, I didn't feel tired or disappointed. I could see that Boonsak was tiring and he was slowing down." http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Friday/Sport/2266192/Article/index_html
