Uncle Oldhand, quarrel & argue not same meaning meh? hmm...... JP didnt play that bad right? QF wasnt shown on tv, so..... And the underlined sentence, kah kah kah, very funny
I wouldnt read too much into the scoreline anyway. Both players (Persson and simon) are different leagues but the masterful LCW has playing in the "Alien" league all by himself this week LCW toyed Persson like a monkey in the court while Simon did nothing wrong with his game. It was the sifu LCW's nite coz he played a flawless game. As simple as that. period.
Well, i made a mistake of reading 'unnecessary' as 'wrong' rather than '?' Let me say i appreciate your efforts as a mod. it's just sometimes I find the cut-off point wandering up and down a bit.But the difference in perception may be because you're a mod, looking at the whole picture and i'm a poster, peeking selectively.
Not when she bends down to redo her shoelaces without the umpire's permission. This could be construed as a deliberate delay to waste time and to gain more time for herself.
Actually LCW was really kind to JP. LCW played slow-motion badminton to give JP some chance to get points. The longest rally was probably 7 shots. Most of the time, it was 1,2,3 or 1,2,3,4 depending on who served. Two years ago, in WC06, JP believed he could defeat LCW.In SO QF here,JP lost through sheer fear.He just did not know how to play. Whereas LCW played real badminton with SS, esp. merciless in G2 to stop SS from having false hopes.
Just got back. My take on the comments. Yup, I agree that jimbo will not get a point off LCW no matter if he does jumping smash at frontcourt until his racquet breaks ..... Yup, we agree that Tine is the major threat to CHN and possible co-favourite at Olympics alongside XXF. ZM and WMC provided credible challenge, and little Saina was a revelation. Yup, we at the stadium agreed that Donna behaved badly, even Clark was cross with her. Clearly seen on court. Next time Loh must PAW on personality and sportsmanship criteria. Yup, we agree that LCW was playing well, but MS final became the least interesting match to me. Hau-ge, can u find out what happened to Simon? No, I don't agree with the view that going to tournaments require lots of money, more like you have to plan and budget accordingly. This is about passion, not money. A passionate man will do anything to reach his goal.
I hope he has not peaked too soon before the Beijing Olympics. Not doubt he met with not much opposition during the SO. Even the two early rubber matches he encountered were soon 'exposed' in the deciders in that he totally overwhelmed his opponents. One could even say he "toyed" with them before knocking them out. And LCW should also remember not to let wicked overconfidence to play against him.
Apologies - It's A Rather Long Post I will rely on jimbo to answer that Not at all, eagle... one can surely argue without quarrelling To argue is to present one's case with evidence, logic or both. To quarrel is to cloud one's case with anger and irrelevant bloat. Good arguments never lead to quarrels... they lead to solutions. That's why courtrooms require arguments to be put forward. The next time someone argues with you, ask yourself: "Am I getting angry?" If you are, it's more than just likely that your position is in the wrong "The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it." I didn't say that. George Bernard Shaw did.
Donna played well at the beginning and Butet was terrible. As the game wore on the roles became reversed. Donna disintegrated (hence the sucky attitude) and Butet, undeterred, went from strength to strength. That's the mark of a champion.
No offense... but that's a rather silly generalisation I am yet to see Peter Gade, a 'Westerner' throw a racquet, much less a tantrum. I don't think we can say the same for Lin Dan, can we? How would it look if, based on just the Korea Open incident, we declare that 'easterners are very expressive'? Everyone is guilty of being 'expressive'. It's quite human to express feelings. There's nothing geographical about it.
Let me just say this. Of all the MAS players, it cannot be denied that LCW is truly world class, regardless of opponent. He's no pretender like KKK/TBH or CTF/LWW. He is the genuine article and a credible bet for OG gold. Anyone who knows badminton, fervent Malaysian supporter or not, acknowledges this. Therefore your comment on "opponent at the same level" is invalid. It's almost like an automatic response anytime you see a MAS fan crow about MAS success. LCW is not just another MAS player. I suggest you think your response through first next time. Thank you.
kah kah, no need for the long explaination. Stimes, there are ppl in real life who would purposely be on the offensive in order to get things their way esp if involves important decision making. If one backs down easily, then one is seen as an easy pushover & therefore not a good leader. But that's 'office politics' issue.
Haha, so true. Anyone and every knows he is a genuine contender. I guess they are just revelling in his SO success. And that's OK with me. The fact that he put up a professional performance means more as, mentally, he has been able to play from a favourite's position.
From a neutral viewpoint, I agree with this statement. LCW's current ranking comes from consistency in reaching the semifinals and finals of major tournaments. On average, only two (or is it three) players show the same consistency. It is hardly LCW's fault that those other players are not playing. IN the records and when we look back in future years, LCW will be regarded as the winner. Not as "LCW was the winner because such and such a person were not playing".
Dato? At the Thomas Cup 2008, Lee Chong Wei beat Lin Dan 21-14, 21-12 Now, at the Singapore Open 2008, he beat Peter Gade 21-18, 21-13 So, which one is the 'opponent at the same level'? Cheung's last sentence sums it up perfectly.
