Hehe guess not but still... would've liked to see more closer battle... I don't think ZJW/YW will do too good in Olympics... I only watched the whole of the MS while other games were in bits and pieces
I couldnt get the feed from HK cable tv,so oh well....WPT/CEH could often take a set from them but seldom win in the end. For Msia WD, more interesting to watch the youngsters, they're a different breed, also play XD. Oops, MD finished already. Guo/Xie retired aft losing 1st set. hmmm, Xie too tired aft winning XD I suppose
It's a wrap, China took all 5 titles. There a total of 14 upsets, but none in Semis or Finals, which all went as expected. Take note that the upsets seemed more cos there were 16 seeded players in MS. Upsets in R64 & R32 = 7 Upsets in R32 & R16 = 5 Upsets in QF = 2
Well, the idea (patented by LYB) is to be generous and let every one of the seniors (read: Olympic frontliners) have a title. Since Xie Zhongbo already bagged the XD, it was only fitting that Cai Yun & Fu Haifeng not sweat too much for the MD cheque Allthesame, poor Guo Zhengdong. Everyone forgot about his need to win
WD: As predicted, CHN WD prevailed in rubber games. XD: Whoever wins the match gets the ticket to Beijing. WS and MD: Whoever wins the 1st game win the match.
Bring out the........................Red Broom.. ..so it's officially over, a clean sweep by the CHN squad...And i believe this is their first sweep ever for all events, in a tourney, for quite a long time (someone correct me)??...Congrats!!
Nice tune up for CHN. With scant resistance, they expectedly snagged every event fielding their uber powerful squad. A bit of fine tuning here and there once they get back to training but it's full steam ahead towards Beijing.
Don't know if it might become a trend for a country to send their top players to a lower level tournament for tune-ups/experimentation. Seems like a success so far
^^Sure...^^ ...M'sia or INA or even the KOR squad to send their uber (no, not the Uber Cup squad) squad, heck even their 2nd or 3rd squad to say the......................U.S. Open??....so, our madbad can come down here??..
Last time China squad bagged 5 titles is 2005 China Masters in Beijing which also lack of top names except Chinese players of course at that time due the event was held only two weeks after Anaheim World Championship 2005.
