hmmm, tons of names in the last 8 of men singles. Yunus, Simon, Nanwei, Xue Song, Tan Chun Seang, Hafiz, and Son Wan Ho. Seriously the contest is wide open. This probably is the hardest 5000 points to score in this year.
Yup, from the veteran to junior player, seems Son WH is hot fave to win here, let's see QUARTERFINALS (02.00pm, 3 courts) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...7B0665-FE15-4F8E-AAEB-48AA966C4A31&d=20131206
What?! Still no livestream and not even livescore; yet another one, so disappointing. Guess it's holiday mood for some people, can't blame them.
Alamsyah Yunus cruises to the SF after a straight-forward 2-sets victory over Wei Nan and will face Son Wan Ho for a place in the Final. Indeed, the Korean has an edge, esp after winning the Macau Open GPG last week.
Yunus vs Son Wan Ho Tan Chun Seang vs Simon Thats still hard to predict! gosh i wonder how many titles shared between them?! certainly for a GP event thats way too much!

So, INA is guaranteed one place in the WS Final, possibly facing the CHN prodigy He Bingjiao. I guess this will be Maria Febe Kusumastuti's last tourney as a Pelatnas player while Hera Desi is likely to be retained for next year (given her slightly higher ranking). Hera might just edge Febe for the Final spot. As for MS, both Alamsyah Yunus and Simon Santoso have to work very hard if they are to create an all-INA Final. Simon seems to have the "easier" task of beating Tan Chun Seang but bear in mind that the MAS independent player had beaten Simon before in the Denmark Open SSP 2012. Alam is likely to lose to the in-form Son Wan Ho. So, my guess is it will be Son vs Simon in the Final. In the MD, Fran Kurniawan/Bona Septano face the young KOR pair of Lee Sang Joon/Kim Dae Eun. I am hoping the experienced INA pair can lift their first title this week.
SEMIFINALS (02.00pm, 2 courts) : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...7B0665-FE15-4F8E-AAEB-48AA966C4A31&d=20131207 INA has 5 representatives and secured 1 final spot through WS discipline. MD is best chance to grab title here. MS prediction, Son WH v Simon, sounds interesting for tomorrow finale.
So Tan Chun Seang gets it again against Simon, and he will be up against Son Wan Ho, who have multiple titles under his belt. Will Tan be able to get his second GP title? or Son will be the one to prove that nothing stop him from winning?
Surprisingly, Simon lost to Tan Chun Seang again in 3 tight-sets. Hmm..... Meanwhile, Hera Desi will square off against He Bingjiao in the Final tomorrow.
On yesterday's Xue Song vs Simon Santoso QF, going by the score proceedings, I surmise that Xue Song, after narrowly taking G1, 23-21, and failing to win G2 by a whisker, 20-22, was still disturbed by the lingering thought of a near miss during G3 which he , unable to regather and regroup himself, then went on to lose in a lop-sided manner, 21-8. I'd attribute that 3rd set drubbing to Xue Song's inexperience and immaturity for which lesson he should always bear in mind in future as he learns to tackle the problem better. Anyway, good to see Simon coming back and look forward to seeing more of him in future.
Fran Kurniawan/Bona Septano edged out the KOR pair in 3-sets: 15-21, 21-13, 21-12. Now, it's time for them to grab their first title as a pair, facing the young TPE pair of Lin Chia Yu/Wu Hsiao Lin.
Though HBJ won, her 20-yr-old KOR opponent, Eun Byul Ko, is not bad either. Hope BJ can take her maiden title tomorrow but it will be hard to call as Hera is a most worthy opponent having beaten the likes of Porntip and taken WYH to three sets recently.
Seems like He Bingjiao enjoys a good run here. Her maiden final in the senior circuit. Will she be able to turn it into title? . Hera Desi might have some other plans in the kettle.. I hope Hera Desi will win her maiden title..
FINALS (01.00pm) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...7B0665-FE15-4F8E-AAEB-48AA966C4A31&d=20131208 INA, MAS and TPE have 2 representatives while KOR has most number 3 and CHN only represented by 1 WS junior in today's final. Who will grab more than 1 title? Looks like KOR and INA have bright chance to claim MS and MD title respectively.
