Indonesia fans has showed the world that they aren't deserve to get "Aggresive" title.

After 10 days of show. Indo fans were very polite, no incident was reported.
And also got a applaus from Denmark team manager.

Ofcouse there was just a incident in the semi when Indo played Denmark.
Some heethead threw a mineral water to the Denmark team when Peter R beat Jens/Martin beat Candra/Tri.
What happen to this guy was very surprising. Some other supporters who sat near him, sent him out of the tribune.

The time has changed, now we must put the word "Aggresive" a way from Indo fans.

    Agree.

Did you think it felt rather strange to see a Thomas Cup final WITHOUT Indonesia in it?

Well, 1994 was pretty scary for the M'sian team but subsequent Thomas Cups were better.
    1996 in HK
    1998 in HK
    2000 in M'sia
    2002 in China

This year, really missed the chanting that the Indonesian fans usually do... :(

Yes, it is strange to see a Thomas Cup final without Indonesia.

In the Indonesia badminton history, Indo always goes to the final.
Since the its first participation in 1957. Indo always plays the final.
    But this year..... :(

Hope that Indo will recover and fight back in Japan next 2 years.

I agree with you all re the Indonesian crowds.. they were very friendly and not rowdy.. and its much safer as well. one of the reason is also security was tighthen since what happened in Bali and Marriot.

Most of them even cheered for Denmark even though Denmark won over their countrymen.

Well, the Indonesian crowd has to be supporting either team, if not why are they there? But I generally notice (from the telecast) that the Chinese-looking Indonesians were supporting China (one carried a "Chong Guo, Wo Ai Ni" placard), and the native-looking Indonesians were rooting for Denmark probably because they would not like China to win the Cup.

No, Indon did not get to play in final of 1988 and 1990. M'sia stopped them there before losing out to Zhao Jianhua/Yang Yang inspired China. LYB and Tian Bingyi was also in the team then.

Every country has their "aggresive" fans. Malaysia's aggresive fans (not as aggresive as those in Europe though) watch local football and normally stay away from badminton, therefore you won't see them. Indonesia's aggresive fans used to hound the badminton arena, they are still around but this time, the more well-behaved fans dominate the stands.

Also the reason why the indon supporters REALLY support their players is taht badminton is like it's the ONLY sport that they can be proud of as in the international range. it's their pride and joy :)

and like i said before, the indon fans are like a mental test for other players, if they can stand them, they can stand anything! :D

when will the other teams will go back to their country i wonder? right after the finals?or will they stay a couple more days?

    My apologize, you are right.
Indonesia was beat by Malaysia in 1988 and 1990 with the same score 3-2.

    it;s "lagi..lagi" = more..more

oh, and i heard somebody yelled "mampus lo!" :p
it's slang language, literally meaning "you're dead!"
for older people, it is very rude, almost a profanity
for the younger generation, especially between close friends and said in a joking manner, it's considered an expression of glee, just like "yeah!" or "gotcha!"

    the crowds

wat do u think about the crowds, i mean the public, when theres a tournament being held, do u think that INA crowd is the WORST crowd ever? i mean theres always some not-so-friendly noises aimed at foreign players especially when theres an indo vs other country match, they're intimidating, they like to make unfriendly noises aimed at foreign players and too noisy:mad: i hate it

That's an unfair comment, I think you should look at other sports, and other countries.

Why don't you check out some matches in South America?
