pologogok u SHOULD that as a NOTE !!! even the korean coach CLAPPED his hand about what chinese were doing U hope u are right , but thats only non sense dude accept the FACT
Just heard on tv the commentator confirming the theory that both pairs were trying hard 'not to win' and chinese won by not winning.. IT also appears that an another womens doubles game is in progress and the korean pair is trying to 'not win' that game for the same reason.. What a disgrace.. I can hear the audience booing eventhough that match is not being telecasted...
Of course WXL/YY deliberately lost to the Korean pairs. Cause if they win in group A, they will meet TQ/ZYL in SF . (based on the draw) Even if The Korean girls really improve, I doubt they can beat the Chinese girls so easily. If someone had to blame, it had to be the Olympic comittee. They should not make a draw in group stages where 2 pairs can go thru top 8. Just make a single knock round like the usual draw. If you lose, you are out. Or make it like the singles. Only the winner of the group will go thru. The runner up will be out. If they did that, I bet no country will exploit this weakness. I donnt know why people will be so outraged here. Maybe it because Chinese players did this. I still remember when Korea Thomas Cup team did this few years ago in THomas Cup event . (When the draw in R16 and QF already fixed) They purposely lost to very weak team in group stage and only ranked third in the group so they can play against teams in others half that they can win. Their strategy work and they march into final. After that incident, IBF changes the rules for Thomas and Uber Cups. Only two teams from each group moved to QF. (not round 16) and they will make the QF draw only after group stages over. At least Cai/Fu did not lost today so they can avoid playing GZD/BC in QF.
In my opinion it's cheating. Obviously they want to lose, that cannot be doubted but purposely losing so blatantly is just ridiculous. It goes completely against the idea of sportsmanship and of competitive sports. Yes, the two Chinese teams may have met but why should that matter? Rather than having friendly rivalry between two home sides there is just a greed for winning as a country, terrible.
Then what are u going to said about INA and KOREA woman double?? people keep booing for them Now i know what is STUPIDITY callled for
I guess they were booing since I wasn't watching. I am watching now and I have not heard of any boos, actually some occassional clappings. But I want to know, what will the BWF's response to all this will be. Kwun should make a poll. Will BWF penalize CHN or just turn the other way about this?
it is out in the press: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/07/31/us-oly-badm-bdwdob-group-day-idUSBRE86U1GC20120731 Paisan promise will look into it and apologize to the fans.
it is not just china. China, Indonesia and Korea all did it. Korea twice, China once, and Indonesia once.
paisan promise will look into it means nothing will happen....can't believe so many immature people in this forum still disputing the fact that this is match fixing....please...the second womens doubles match between KOR and INA have proven you wrong!....now even INA pair is involved
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ol...fter-badminton-match-descends-into-farce.html look at what the other players think...petya nedelcheva criticised them too....
It's a shame for the Olympic Idea and for Badminton. Both teams should go out of the tournament. BTW - Why they don't make the draw AFTER the groupstage ?
Probably nothing they can do in this Olympics, but they will have to redo the structure of this type of tournament to have a second draw for all the qualifiers after the preliminaries round. If you make the structure of the draw predictable then you open it up to (manipulation/strategic maneuvers).
The Boos on court While watching the MS match, I heard a lot of booing. I tried to switch courts to watch the other match so I could see what was going on, but the BBC had made it unavailable. Could someone please fill me in on what was happening please? And can I watch this match elsewhere? Thanks
yeah. when it starts from Reuters the whole world will pick it up immediately. i see it in news site from chicago, australia, uk, europe, etc, etc, all picking it up already.
Perhaps you could just read the 2 top threads... Long story short China and Korea's WD were basically trying to lose to face who they wanted in QF and were really bad actors
bad story short: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/07/31/us-oly-badm-bdwdob-group-day-idUSBRE86U1GC20120731
it was in the YY/WXL vs. Kim/Jung match. and then later on in the Ha/Kim vs. Greysia/Mel match as well.
