REGULATIONS FOR THE THOMAS AND UBER CUPS

I like to propose a better order.

    1. Stick with fixed alternating order : Single, Double, Single, Double, Single....

    2. But let the coach decide whom to field at the beginning of each match, depending on the result of the just concluded match.

Normally, for the group-stage ties where all five matches are played, the order of play is less important. At the knockout stage, it becomes significant, but still have to be based on ranking where the higher-ranked player cannot replace the lower-ranked one.

Obviously, whether the lineup is MS1, MS2, MD1,MD2, and finally MS3 or as you proposed, it will no doubt considerably alter and impact the dynamics, psychology and strategy (gameplan) of the placements depending on the relative strength of their singles and doubles in the two opposing teams.

All those possibilities have one goal: no player playing in two consecutive matches or playing doubles before singles

AND remember about coach strategy to split doubles pairs to make the opponent has no clue about the new splitted doubles. EVEN originally single player can be played in new made doubles just in time before the squad finalized before the match played.

It's just a matter of the strategy.
