Think it might be because LD needs the points to go back up to No.2 in WR again, after CL's rather surprising win in DO. Don't think LYB wants LD and LCW to meet in the OG Semis
This is the more likely reason. And it's time Lin Dan shows he is still The King as Chen Long continues to rise and threaten his reign, in addition to his archrival Lee CW.
Did CJ and LD got booed by the fans? I read about their match in Badzine. Was the booing as bad as it was in Singapore Open?

If Chen Long continues to win more than Lin Dan en route to London Oly 2012, LYB's blue-eyed boy LD may not appear in the final. Try as he might to ensure that China gets the maximum 3 MS players in the top 4, LYB may have to sacrifice CJ if the latter should meet LD again and abandon his "match-fixing" tactic which he so successfully spearheaded in the past. LCW is the man to beat in London. Only LD and now CL have conceivably the best chance to defeat the datuk. So CJ will have to find his own way to London. And it will be tough if Peter Gade is not giving up, despite his recent setbacks and ageing bones. On the other hand, LYB will push LD to participate in more SS tourneys in order for him to secure more points and avoid LCW in the same half of the draw. The risk is that LD may suffer more injuries and become completely useless by then.
And now the question of whether LCW will continue to be WR1 is an interesting one. His recent defeats to CL has somehow dented his chances to remain on top just before London. The latest rankings show that CL is not far behind and if he continues in his fine form and remains injury-free, he may be able to overtake LCW, unless the datuk plays in more competitions and wins many more. But LCW is no pushover. At worst, he should figure in at least the QF of the tournaments he particpates in. It is reasonable to assume that he should appear in more SFs and Finals than in QFs. And these will ensure he will be able to amass a great number of WR points. But Chen Long is the young man to watch. If LCW should meet him in subsequent finals and lose, then CL could well end up as WR1 before London Oly 2012! LCW, with his new coach, must now find as many flaws in CL's play and counter these with point winning solutions.
Will CL win the next Olympic MS crown? Or for that matter, LCW or LD? Hard to say. We have already seen many upsets recently. If CL faces another young man from another unknown country like Guatemala, he may be so shocked by the prospect that he may simply be immobilized on the spot once again.
Chances for such an upset (lost to unheralded player) do exist on every top player... yet such probability is slim! In the case of CL, now having on top 3 position, i believe he will get more prepared and be more cautious in facing any adversary. From now on, one may expect to see more clashes between LCW and CL. As about whether or not LCW is able to retain his #1 position, time will tell... I foresee a serious hurdle ahead for him to keep it until Oly.
Most probably because they meet in QF and maybe not that convince that Chen Jin can win over Tago and if Chen Long lose to LCW, Chen Jin may not win the tournament too even if he can go to final
Lin Dan always been and will always be better than Chen Jin, for Lin Dan, it's a matter of pride I don't think there was any back-court altering of the game by LYB... regardless of who wins, in the end, it will be Chen Long who wins, anyway, judging from his recent performance
this might be a stupid question.. but does LCW really need to be No 1 going into the olympics? maybe not being no 1 is better for LCW... psychologically wise let lin dan or chen long bear the burden of being no 1
Does any one really want to be an ordinary man when presented with better choice??? With the absence of WC & Oly titles, if not holding WR #1, what else to be proud of???
Agree. Look at how they lengthened their match till the outcome of the Tago/Hu Yun match was known when both matches were ongoing at the same time. My guess is if Hu Yun wins, CJ would take him on. If Tago wins, LD would be his opponent.
