cute cute cute...muahahhahaha btw...anyone knows when he's going to the military service and when is he coming back?
yongdae don't need to go to the military service, but JJS must, about one mon.so they will lose the opportunity to win their 2nd AE.
lose the opportunity to win their 2nd AE??? Are you meant that JJS is going to the military service in this coming February or March?? And if I'm not mistaken, LYD has to go for the military service also, but maybe for one week or one month
Posted by cooler before: SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's male Olympians who won medals in Athens enjoy various rewards for their achievements, but perhaps one of the most significant could be exemption from their mandatory military service. According to the Yonhap news agency, South Korean men who win medals in the Olympics or a gold medal at the Asian Games are only required to do four weeks of basic training instead of the usual 26 months in the country's armed forces. Women are not obliged to serve in South Korea's military. Male athletes who fail to win those prizes must serve the entire conscription period.
yes,JJS will begin his military service on February 2nd,and he have to join the Korean Armed Forces Athletic Corps team. YD also need, but only one month military training.i don't know when, maybe when he is 25 or 26 years old.
yes,JJS have to leave samsung team, but will still be permitted to play in international events for national team.
erm..sorry a bit blur here...means JS will go for military for 26 months from Feb 2nd and YD will have to join for a month also but not now?
Right. (Note that the 4-week military training is mandatory for all men even though they like YD are exempted from full military services.) YD is exempted from the military services, nevertheless, he should still get 4-week military training. He will do it when he wants in the future not now. JJS will get through the 4-week training and then be positioned to the Army Team; his duty is "playing badminton". Afterwards, they will still play together in the international events representing KOREA, even though they belong to different Teams.
oh ic...thanks so much for the explanation....but will JS go back to the same team with YD after his military service? (just asking) does this means that YD will still join AE? since he's not going for the military training now...
No problem. No official announcements for those things. The followings are just my personal speculation: JS's future will all depend on their performance in the future. They are aiming for the Gold at Asian Games next year. If they made it, JS may decide to join again if he wants. But if they should continue, they should aim for the next Olympic Games, so the chance for their re-union in the same team might be little. And JS has an engaged girlfriend for a long time so there will be more chance to quit playing in the national team after marriage. As Korea has participated in the German, AE, Swiss Opens, they will go for the tourneys in this year. But it will be up to the coaches' decision if YD will play MD with another partner for trial that would give other countries a chance to take confidence over YD by beating YD. YD's good performance comes with very well trained partnership with JS or LHJ.
Btw, since JJS most probably wil be retired by 2012, do you have any idea why LYD isnt partnered with Hwang since Hwang's partner Lee Jae Jin has left the national squad? Or even Cho,Cho was LYD's MD partner in junior days ? There were comments CHo is better than his current partner Yoo. For 2012 OG that is. But I guess they still have time to try out till early 2010.
LYD needs a super smasher in his back as you might know. In this view, Hwang will be not the right guy. Cho would be good, but they also need some long time to make a good partnership to rule the world as now with JJS. (In my view, Yoo is better sometime, Cho is still making many mistakes and unexperienced.) All the partnerships are up to the coaching staffs of Korea.
well to me...JJs and YD are still a very good pair...i hope they can win more titles together in the future...
