I managed to catch your match. No sweat eh? Saw you giving sideline coaching to your friend (or your student?). Is this allowed? :D Must say that the kid who defeated your friend played very well for his age. :)

    xiaobunny, i am not sure.

the skinny kid was there with his mum and siblings who were all cheering for him. i was trying to guess his age, probably 12 years old or younger. for his age he has good technique, footwork, gameplay etc and he was very hardworking throughout the match. i believe the opponent, a teenager, underestimated the kid and had no answer to the kid's game. he lost in 2 straight games and i thought he looked very stunned after his loss.

A little confused : "oh that him" refers to the 'Skinny Kid' or the 'Teenager'? My sons r trg under Kenny Wong too. Cos his 14-year-old elder son doesn't look like a 'kid' for his height....a little enlightenmen plse:confused:

This skinny kid technique is quite ok. Above average for the standard. He need more power to be successful. In badminton if you don't have the power, its difficult to survive. He lost to an experience and more powerful player. It is competitive.

His power overwhelmed me in the 1st set. I wasn't woke up yet. hehe. On second set even though I hit 20 first, the gas just went out. ;) Am sure some of the competitive player here knows how brutal it is to play singles. I wish I was younger. hehe..

I was there just to have fun and give some baptism of fire for my student in doubles. This is to motivate him and let him know the 'learning' process in being a good badminton player. Obviously we lost in to the same person.

If he focus well, he will be the one to watch in under-16 age group. Am beefing him up with a left hand partner. Another KKK-TBH in the making... watch out in a court near you. hehe ;) You can train together with them if you want to learn something. ;)

So I tot, what the heck, have some fun in singles. ;)

The problem with this is those organisers don't come here and contribute. Not all bcers will know as well. ;) Not easy. ;) We are counting or bcers eyes to spot for notices around the halls for tournaments. At times its last minute. Too bad. ;)

That's also one of the reason why sports is not very successful here. It's not a priority. Lack of coordination from CC, SSCs and BAs. They don't talk as much as they have their own priority ;) There are lots of enthusiastic people who can organise them. The usual issue is lack of funds. Badminton is one of the most popular game and it's not nurtured well enough. Enjoy life.;)
