    Hey guys.
    I have a question..
How do I book 3 hours in a row? I cannot book 3 hours as it's overbooked it says.
I booked through the online SSC booking by credit/debit card.
    Thanks

Maximum you can book at a time is 2 hrs per day. Try to get another id to book. ;) Or if you book on the next day, it shd be ok.

    Not really.

I have been booking 3 hours x 4 courts for several weeks now.
That's not 2 hours but 12 hours in one go.

There is a set quota for individual bookings.
I am not sure about how much it is.

If you have an existing booking, the system will allow you to book only within the fortnight's or week's quota.

Method: internet booking - through the SSC's ibook system
    Payment: credit card

Yes, in one shot (12 hours - as I said in my previous post) :)

Oldhand , you said it is a limit per individual booking.
Is there anyway to increase it? I mean, should I inform the SSC staff or something like that?

    Thanks

EDIT: I really do not understand. I've read the whole pages about the Booking Rules on SSC home page. I'm pretty sure it doesn't mention any book limit on the first day of the booking day.

Here's what I copied from the website:

    Booking Availability Window (BAW)

For counter and internet booking, booking opens daily at 7am and 1pm (depending on the activity) for slots up to 14 days in advance.

    Booking Quota

A hirer can only book up to a maximum of 2 peak-hour slots on the last day of the BAW.

There is no quota for the rest of the days within the BAW.

Each walk-in hirer is allowed a maximum of 4 hours per transaction when there is a queue.

    Source: http://www.ssc.gov.sg/publish/Corporate/en/participation/hotspot/booking_rules.html

Last time, I even printed these rules and brought it over to the counter but I was denied, the person said, we do not have time for rules..
    Great.
Then why bother to make rules?

The limit is the same for all.

You might want to check how you go about booking the courts.
It's very likely that you aren't doing it right.

Oldhand, something is not right.. or should I say, fishy.
Because yesterday I called to one of the Sports Hall ticket office and I asked, how do I book for three hours, and she, with a high tone and a bit yelling, she said, "You can only book for two hours!! If you need three hours, then you have to use another person's IC"

    What the..

And I do it right just as usual. Just click the times and then submit, but when the price screen showed, it showed: $7.40, $7.40 and the next one was "OVERBOOKED" and I just paid for the $14.80.

Oh, and for the record, I did not book on the last day of BAW

    Regards,
    R

Well, all I can say is it works for me.

In fact, the only thing that occasionally doesn't work is the Javascript on the booking page :D

This is true. Only 2 hours for one ID on the book opening date. So I have 4 IDs for my own booking. On the follwing day, I have booked 6 hours with one ID.:p

You can do this on the book opening day? For Sports Hall booking? I want to have such permission too. ;)

Hi, David, so is it okay for example I use my IC to book the first 2 hours court and my passport for the next 1 hour court?

if the staff is rude to you, just bring it up to the top. Sometimes there are people sitting in there too comfortably. More than 2 hours booking is not consistent at times, I wonder why some can get more than 2 hours. Some bug somewhere. You can refer them and ask the why. ;) It's frustrating when there are inconsistencies. Service excellence my foot as some will say. ;)

Yes. You can do so. This is what I did. But you need to get another ID by registering your passport too. ;)

This works well just as you said. I experienced this before at CCK SH when I went to pay for the courts. One lady (just that one, others are all good.) showed me cold face. A few times later, I was angry. I told her why her attitude was so bad to her customers and asked her to show me her badge ID. Wah, from that her attitude has been much better. Her voice became gentle, face not cold. Later I was lazy to report her attitude although at that time I was ready to do so. :p

The idea of complaining is not to get the person fired. We just want improvements. Only narrow minded bosses do so, or perhaps the staff doesn't change for the better. All we need is people to be civilised when serving people and use a little tact and common sense.

The frustration dealing with some of these people is they 'pretend' not to know. They think people are dumb. Especially those who are suppose to maintain the system. There's something called maintenance fees/contracts and the tax payer's money is not maximised to serve the tax payers. ;) It's not cheap. Ignorance is the easiest way out for them. Oh, if they don't feel like working, there are a lot of people on q to replace them. Afterall, we all agree on meritocracy dont we?

It's like badminton, if you train hard for it, you will get what you want. Ie winning the game. Be proactive.;)
