I received a couple of Jpsee (pronounced Jipsee) racket samples yesterday. 2 rackets that are more evenly balanced (not head-heavy). the models are:

    Jpsee Advantac 998
    Jpsee Power Tec 99000

the spec are 3UG4, ie. 85-89g with a G4 grip.

the manufacturer claims that they are made with 40 Ton graphite rods with top grade Japanese fiber. they backed up their claim by giving a relatively high tension recommendation of 23-28lbs for the Advantac 998, and a rare high 21-29lbs tension recommendation for the Power Tec 99000.

having played with it so far with my hands and some bending, i can tell that the shaft is quite stiff, similar to AT700 and feel quite lively.

the Advantac is the red one. it has a non-shared hole design for the top of the frame, and ti-mesh on the 3/9 o'clock positions to stabilize the racket.

the Power Tec has a internal groove which enlarges the string surface, that has the effect of enlarging the sweet spot.

cosmetically the designs are original (ie. they have the decency of coming up with their own design instead of copying Yonex like some clonex brands). the quality of the design is only so-so IMHO. they are at the level of SOTX type design, which means there are some good original elements, but there are also parts of which like the fonts, color used, and pattern not quite up to par with even the regular Yonex rackets.

The brand Jpsee is being distributed by Rose Sports in Hong Kong. Jpsee is a Taiwanese company. The owner says it is so far been quite well received by local players in Hong Kong.

I have yet to try them out in the court, after I have done so and also put them through some testing, i will post a review.

These rackets don't look too bad. Waiting for more info after your testing.

the red one does share the color palette (red + white/black) with the ARC10. however, if you compare the two, the Advantac is more red dominant and there is much less fine detail than the ARC10.

the quality of the paint job itself is quite good, but the design still need a bit more work to be in par with Yonex.

i will see if i can get some side-by-side comparison with my ARC10....

yup, agreed, at least they're staying well clear of doing things similar to yonex, be it the name or cloning.

still, a cooler name wouldn't hurt.

May I ask, from the pictures, are they 1 pass grommets on the or shared grommet? Could not be 100% sure from the picture. The reason I am asking is just wondering how the cross is going to be spaced.

to my understanding rose sports is the brand owner of jpsee, the brand was formerly known as jps. the rackets are made in taiwan, most probably an oem thing but not 100% certain. the powertec 99000 resembles the fleet woven in look and performance. jpsee also do shuttlecocks, did you manage to buy a tube to try out?

on the Power Tec they are shared.

on the Advantac they are 1-pass on the upper frame and shared on the lower.

Thanks for reviewing non-YY products for the community Kwun. :D

    by the way...

I noticed the red one, has box frame near the shaft?
Is the frame carbonex type slimness, or is it thicker like the armortec series?

    I like the designs...
too bad I was so young, and inexperienced (read - lazy) back in the day otherwise I would have put more effort into making up some OEM black label products too lol

Cant wait to see how they play for you, and the stringing process too!

talking about black label. Jpsee has a model that has woven outer layer and a transparent paint job. the end result is that one can see through to the underlying top fiber layer. the look of that racket is totally awesome. it is the same idea as the very expensive SOTX woven 16.

let me see if i can get that racket sample next time to show you guys. it is a beauty.

JPSEE is exclusive to Rose in Hong Kong, i don't know if they have a website, and personally doubt it, but i would expect that you have to go to the store. My Family there got me mine.

ALso, when using the advantac, i felt as though it was a bit head heavy.

That Powertec 99990909000000 looks fantastic! I think Badminton is the only sport on the planet where they cover up the composite with a million layers of paint, so it's nice to see some composite, even if the top layer is cosmetic.

I also love the logo, but as a Graphic Designer, the rest of the graphics are very average.

And I HATE the lack of innovation with the model names, not just from this company but many other companies that just sort of emulate Yonex in the hope that....what.....someone decides they can't afford a NS9900 so they go look for something else with nine thousand in the name?

Aside from that, first impression is 'promising' :)
