A very sensible way of sending teammates out to play . HKG team was split into halves. One half went west (for theThailand Open), and the other south (Australia and NZ Opens). IMHO, this is a very sensible way of sending teammates out to play. Why send all teammates to go west or to go south, and for them ending up to compete against teammates in the same tournament(s)? .
agree i x thought tat they will join the tourney since wc is near but it is a gd idea esp if they win titles,cn boost their confidence 4 wc
I must say that I too am impressed with their (HK player's) improvement; especially Wong Wing Ki. He played a very smart match against Andre Tedjono by taking away his biggest weapon, his smash. Hopefully Andre can bounce back and regain some of the form I know he's capable of. Got to give credit to the HK crowd at the hall yesterday too though. They definitely carried the HK mix double pair against their young Indonesian opponents who looked very good after the first game but were completely outplayed in the next two. Chau came over to acknowledge the crowd after the match which was very nice I thought. Joe P.
2009 New Zealand Open Finals: Saturday, August-01 . So we have arrived at the 2009 New Zealand Open Finals. The close matches could come from the womens categories, namely; Womens Singles: Sayaka Sato [3] [JPN] -vs- Maria Febe Kusumastuti [4] [INA] Womens Doubles: Tsz Ka Chan / Ying Suet Tse [1] [HKG] -vs- Anneke Feinya Agustine / Anisa Wahyuni [2] [INA] .
Sayaka Sato has improved tremendously,....after her WJC 08 runners up, she played well in recent Sudirman Cup also to beat MKY and others.........Hope she able to grab her 1 st GP title today............
Seems like what badmania implied is that the influx of Indonesia players have helped lifted up the standard of HK players. Interesting
Not to forget the many CHN players migrating to HK . This is true. But, not to forget the many CHN players migrating to HK. They also helped to lift the standard of HK too. .
Both are correct. HK Badminton has never been stronger due to the influx of 'former' INA and CHN players.
