OK, first up I have to say that this isn't for me. I'm still searching for my "perfect" racket, but that's another story :p

I play social doubles weekly (well, frequently) with this friend of mine who just refuses to spend any money on Badminton. I bought him his current racket for £3 in a firesale - as a joke. Sadly he actually uses this thing as his only other racket is from when we used to play as kids 15 years ago. This thing is on its last legs and he has finally agreed to get a new one, but he won't spend much.

So this is where I want your recommendations for a bottom-dollar, yet not terrible racket for an improving beginner! He only plays doubles and hits the frame A LOT (I don't know that a new racket in itself will fix that, but still...). He likes to play from the back of the court, but doesn't have great strength.

So far I have come up with:

    Yonex MP7
    Head Nanopower Rave
    Karakal Aero Speed 760

Are any of those any good? Any other suggestions? Thanks guys :)

You may want to look at Yonex Muscle Power 10 or Yonex Muscle Power Tour. They are definitely more than £3, but they are good racket for casual players.

Alternatively, as suggested on above post, get him an Apacs racket. Apacs racket is fairly good with friendly pricing. Good luck!

Apacs is starting to look like a good suggestion. The cheapest models seem to be out of stock on the uk site though.

Nano 900 speed £25? Looks pretty good to me!

I think I'll wait for stock in that one.

how about checking RSL rackets? i don't know how much these are in your area but in the philippines there are models that are priced reasonably cheap.
