Just for comedy value we should put our different area codes on as part of the print.
It would be great going on holiday, seeing someone with an SP logo on, and they could see my UK logo!

I'm all in favor for the country code idea. I think it'll be an especially nice touch.

Don't forget to include the "UP" code avaiable in the US area :D:D
(Just to make fun of Yonex :))

Also, we probably need to keep the cost down as there are many student members in here.

(YA! I will help distributing the US/UP and TW shirts)

How about this?: "CN" for the official and regional distribution codes for the rest? (etc... SP, JP, TW, UK, CA and US):).

    Re: T-shirt

Jonas, that is an excellent idea! i cannot hope for a better model for the BC t-shirt!

i hope to have more than one t-shirt. so you can appear on the later styles.

    more thoughts.

CN/SP code... well. that's an idea! but unfortunately, that won't work too well as it will require printing in smaller batches. that drives up the cost and also much harder to manage the stock size (like ppl from HK won't want to buy the CD/US version for example). it will be ok to add it on afterwards but we will run into problem with color fading. perhaps somebody more familiar with t-shirt printing can enlighten us. may be we pick one country code? just CN? or just SP? :)

thinking about it more, i think my previous suggestion of releasing the design to the public is the best way to go. the designs are contribution from the community and it only makes sense if it is offered free back to the community.

the design chosen are from wirey's designs and i have contacted wirey to get the original artwork. i will let you guys know which ones are picked tomorrow.

i plan to print new t-shirts once every few months. perhaps we can have a country code for each one? it would also be cute to put in the full Yonex serial number so in the future we know which date the t-shirt was release by looking at the date code.... ;)

    Hi kwun

Why so many numbers? Can you explain your example, say the first line. What do they stand for?

the first number is random 7 digit number (supposedly the serial number). the second number is the date code:

    DDMMYx

    as in all Yonex rackets...

there was a thread where we discovered this...

You mean making all the t-shirts in one factory, of the same, high quality(Japan), then distrubuting them regionally for Coding?

How about we make some of the rackets...oops t-shirts in a factory which can make them cheaper (Taiwan), possibly at lower quality, and code them for countries with rackets...opps t-shirts which have them at lower price normally?

    :D :D :D

    :)

let's for now keep things simple like i am sure our friend Yonex did. have everything be made in one location first as the factory and corporate hq (ie. me) is here.

the logistics of having to work with an overseas printer will probably kill this project at the first try.. :(

I know, I just thought what you were saying had a similarity to what Yonex Do!
    Looking forward to getting them!

There is EDBA tournament comming up in may... (Edmonton District Badminton Association) i know we will be needing some sponsorship for prizes and such... I believe the way it works for the tourny's is that everybody gets a prize. So i believe that this will be a good way to get your name out to the community more.

    Re: Re: T-shirt

    maybe a collector edition.:)

regarding all those country code and yonex related things, i think it should be of BF origin and absent of brand flavor. Remember, we have a world wide audience of players who may use forza, carlton, BK, winex, wilson, etc... Lets just promote badminton for now.

let me revoice my displeasure at that yonex serial number idea...

    1. it presuposes all of us want our shirts to be some weird sort of yonex clone

    2. that's arguably infringing yonex's trademark

    3. it serves no real purpose and only worsens the design
(not unlike putting a giant spoiler on a civic and spraying MOMO across the top.)
