Unfortunately it is hard to proof this thing. One can observe the sudden drop in form of players who would otherwise tipped to win in crucial matches. It can be very tempting for players who are in position to decide the outcome of the match especially when the money is not big in the game.
my answer is yes there's no reason for this. Yes, there's gambling in it. In all sports though, not just badminton only
yeh....theres sports betting for nearly every sport isnt there??? wats the big deal? At least its not as bad as soccer, boxing etc where max fixing becomes an issue.
I have heard ppl accusing Dato Lee of match fixing when he lose to some unknown players. That's very disgusting! In gambler eyes, every1 is a FIX!!!!
accusations with no proof and off pure speculation mean as much as me saying the moon is made of cheese. Dont talk rubbish unless its able to be proven. Lee Chong Wei earns a nice wage through badminton not only through prize money, but sponsorships and endorsments. aswell as bonuses. Why would he throw his extremely high reputation away and risk ending his career for a bit more money here or there? Its different in soccer where Millions and millions of dollars are on the line each match.
oppss... soli for my poor english.. I dun accuse Dato Lee of matchfixing is just that I have heard people accusing him of Matchfixing. In fact, I'm sure Dato play his heart out for the country. Wat i meant is that most of this people who accuse Dato of matchfixing is gambler who know nothing about sports...
I'm sure it exists, but at a much smaller scale than say...soccer or boxing like some others have said.
