Floor and lighting are two main concerns. Any pic about the courts floor and lighting on the everyday badminton website? I cannot forget my knee-hurt in some professional club's courts....
The floor will be PVC floor for a month or two, then a new subfloor will be added. 7 courts in total. Not sure that I heard it correctly, was told the ceiling is 20ft high. Would like to go and see it in person on the opening day. (Sept 20th/09)
i dont get the $20 membership for a year.. so does this mean.. I get membership for a year for all court rentals and drop in, given that i do pay the drop in and rental fees? What are the opening day promotions for court rentals and drop in?
For all you guys that go on opening day could you guys please take some pictures of this place? Thanks a lot guys
The membership fee is just that you're registered as a member. You still need to pay for court rental. Charges depending on the different time slot. Check the website http//www.everydaybadminton.com for more info. You can even call their tel, there is a live person answering your enquiries.
Not sure whether any camera is allowed. I'm sure sooner or later the pictures will be on their website.
i second that, it's also a bit cold for some reason lol (even tho there's alot of ppl, and the area should be well heated up).
David and I went this morning as well. It was nice to meet and play with.. whoever we played with And um... I like the snack table?
Hah, the free snack table was the best thing there. This has to be the most ghetto badminton club out there. When you wait to play outside of the court area, they don't give you comfy chairs, they give you unstable garden chairs and the tables have dollar store cloths on them. Now when we actually get into the court area, it doesn't get better, it gets worse. It is so dark in there it's hard to see. The courts all looked like they were used along with the poles and nets. The courts are "placed" down with ducktape. This place is not safe The poles are wrapped in about a thousand layers of ducktape instead of padding like the other clubs. I would not recommend this club and will probably never go back again.
The main concerns are the poor lightings and low ceiling. It uses fluorescent tubes instead of H.I.D./ high pressure sodium/ vapor metal halide light bulbs.
I suspect the duct tape is a temporary thing because I was told at the reception area that they will be cushion underneath the floor. Major gripe is the low ceiling and bad lightning.
