Hi there, same thing happened to me when using Lethal 60. Try lower your usual tension by 3lbs to compensate for the stiffness of the racket, you will be surprised =)
hi guys read somewhere that Apacs clones are not so good, was recommended to buy specialised Apacs rackets instead. what do you guys think? true? i'm looking for a fast doubles racket, something like the Yonex NS9900, Ti-10 or the Li Ning N50. What are your Apacs recommendations?
Could anyone give me a comparison of the stiffness of the Lethal 70 and Nano Pro 9000? Thanks in advance.
Just got to try out Tantrum Light Exclusive. It's 670mm and not 675mm as described on the apacscanada site. It weighed in at 79.1g with stock grip and no strings. By my measurement the BP was 292mm. Strung with BG-66 22x24 lbs. I have tried a lot of the recent model of rackets so I don't think it would be fair for me to give any review of this. Coming from a Karakal Mtec-70 (675mm) though, I felt the Tantrum light had more power but less defense.
What about this seller on ebay: badmintonbay. Any experience? This guy have some Apacs rackets too, and his ebaystore is really nice organized.
I'll do a review of the Stern 100 and 85 as soon as I get to test it out (I have practice tomorrow and Friday). I might also be able to try out some of the other rackets like the Fusion Pro 8899, Lethal 30, AMP 95, etc. I have already played with the Edgesaber 10, Nano 900 Power Red/White, Nano 9900...
:-o That is a LOT of rackets!! Sell me cheap when you are done testing ... just kidding! Have fun with all those new blades and let us know the reviews! cheers, Shubh
The Nano 900 Power Red is slightly head-heavy, with a medium-flex shaft and a box frame. I haven't played with it too much since I opted to use its twin brother, the Nano 900 Power White (which is the exact same racket but just a slightly thicker shaft, thus a stiffer shaft). It's my current singles racket (though that might change with the arrival of the Sterns).
Hi thejym, That is nice..mmm. so many rackets.... let us know your comments on each what is the spec in comparison to the seller/manufacturer spec? What string or tension you ordered? What kind of player will be suitable for? Mmm mmm mmm Christmas comes early thanks
I had the Stern 100 and 85 strung to 32x35lbs, since it was advertised that it could handle up to 35lbs of tension. By the time I received it, it has dropped down to around 30lbs, which is what I normally play at. All of the rackets are advertised to withstand up to 30lbs, and I would have to say the claim is true. I've been able to string the Nano 900 Power White to 29x32lbs using a drop-weight, 2-support machine multiple times without anything going wrong. I intend to use the Stern 100 and Nano 900 Power White as my singles rackets, and the Stern 85 as my doubles racket. In doubles, it's hard to play with the Nano 900 Power White since it is not very maneuverable, so doing drives and defensive shots are tough. However, in singles, the racket packs a good punch. Ultimately, I think that as long as you play with a certain racket long enough, you will adapt to it and feel comfortable with it. If I continue to play doubles with the Nano 900 Power White, I will expect my drives and defensive shots to improve over time, but that improvement might be small compared to just switching to a more maneuverable racket. In singles I would characterize myself as an all-round player. I usually don't stick with one particular style but vary it depending on my opponent. I typically play more attacking shots than defensive shots, with a fair amount of deception and net play, but it really depends on the opponent. In doubles, I used to prefer being in the back smashing, but now I enjoy coming up to the net to pick off shots and setting my partner up.
Hi, i am planning to buy VH1800. What is the price now? Include bag? O anyone can recommend me a racket for doubles? I used to hv a nanospeed 9000. I found the racket is too light for me to smash. So i am looking for another racket.
