Hey y'all, I'm mainly playing mens double on the weekends, and play mens single over the week. Smashing, and producing head speed is usually not an issue for me. Thus, I prefer using even balance rather than head-heavy. Smashing only comes when the bird is lifted by the opponent. I prefer to make good placement instead of relying on smashes (singles). However, in doubles play I find myself smashing more often. I'm looking for a racket that is similar to the arc10 but easier on the wallet. The cost can be around 150-180 (180 is the absolute max). What would the BC community recommend me? Any brand is fine for me.
that price range is very close to an arc 10, why not just get a 2nd one? according to dinkalot, the arc 10 isn't a very good racket. If i were you I would try other racket instead of finding one that's similar.
doesn't sound like its that bad now. But warlock is right, just search around for a new/used ARC10, and you probably will get one for that price.
i purchased the arc10 based on his reviews actually, cuz he described a racket that is very good for my style of play however, the review was on the "baddies" forum so it may have been a completely different review/time frame the reason why i'm asking for something comparable to an arc10 is because i wanna try different rackets and see which ones are better cuz the arc10 might not be the best fit so far, it's doing a really good job if i find another racket that fits me more, i may sell my arc10 or use it as a "back-up" racket thanks for your inputs guys, really appreciate it please recommend me any other rackets that come to mind if it turns out the other ones aren't very well suited for me, i may just stick to the arc10 or buy another one (if i start doing tournaments again...)
corrections: it was antz' reviews, and badder's forum just gonna bump this one up, i really need some advice from you guys!
from what i read around BC the n55 is suppose to be like the Arc10...but thats not exactly "easy on the wallet"...(L) my arc10, 3UG5 BG80 27lbs... definitely my racket of choice.
Brave Sword 09. IT has the aero frame and slightly lighter. Balance is roughly the same and flexibility is around the same. Price range is definately under $200. My friend got one from badmintonshiponline.us for roughly $145 (no strings)
I was in the same situation but wallet wasn't a problem, that a good think when you get older After 1 year with Arc saber 10 I fell not 100 % happy with this raquet. Recently I bougth a Apacs Tantrum 300, just got the change to play 3 hours, but first impression was very good, and this raquet is half the price. Apacs original raquet should be in your choice, but not their Yonex clone.
well, technically, budget isn't too much of a problem for me either. I have a stable source of income, and I don't really spend much anywhere else. Please keep those suggestions coming, the previous ones have been very useful! So far I have: n55 (i'm guessing li ning?) brave sword 09 apacs tantrum 300 2nd arc10 thanks guys for your inputs so far I will do more research on these rackets in the meantime, please keep brainstorming BC!!
yea the n55 is from li ning, i get mine on Saturday if you can wait till then ill give you a comparison
I'd love to hear your review of it! I'll really appreciate it as well, jaiyen. Btw are you a singles player or doubles? If you don't mind divulging, how much did you pay for your n55 and where did you get it from? You can pm me if replying here is a little too public for ya.
lol im getting my n55 from a member of the forum for $265AUD im mainly a signles player (tournaments) but i play everything socially
+1 Brave Sword 09? Aerodynamic frame, Slim shaft, slight head heavy and medium stiff. Similar spec to ARC10.
Just put: in Buy and sell section WTB Arc10 (GTA) budget: CAD 170 without GST prefer specs: XU/GX And wait...............
Any other suggestions?? I find I like the stiffness of the arc10 a lot more than med flex-med stiff rackets. I'll see if i can find other rackets to test from people that I find playing
