Congratulation to the backup players as CWF, CKB and TCS advanced to the main draw. Tough matches await them. And congratulation to the look-alike WMC, Yang Li Lian for beating Yu Hariyama

Tee JY vs Tai was more kan cheong

Haha, yeah, the way she tie & pin her hair same style with WMC.:D

Yeah, coach Sun(BJSS chief) did mention Tee JY has great fighting spirit but not so good in technique, strength. Tee is a shortie like Julia Wong, 19 this yr, new rookie in back up WS.

I think the main contender for the MS 3rd singles will be TCS. However, he seems to lack the stamina, considering his match against LDR today...

What are the odds of calling back Uncle Wong? I think he would stand a better chance.

Yes, I totally agree with you. But we have to look at the other 2 as CWF and CKB. CWF is progressing but relatively slow though.

    my review

    the match of the day
tee jing yi vs tai tzu ying
a very good and entertaining match to watch:D
both player perform with great fighting spirit entire the match:)
tee jing yi(18) is know as a fighter on court
while tai tzu ying(15) is chinese taipei brightest hope in ws
even though there is a couple of mistake in the match
but both player performed many great save, tight net play and big jumping smash(even when the match already 50++ minutes in progress, both tee and tai still manage to do some hard jumping smash:eek:)
this match attract most if not all of the crowd attention
even i,sitting at the l6,also walk to l10 to watch closer:D
the remain bcers is testing their neck strength as they need to switch attention from court 1(arif vs kazushi) and court four(tee jing yi vs tai tzu ying):p
there is some problem with the livescore during 8-11 3rd set(umpire problem actually, will upload the photo to u all to see)he is adjusting the livescore until tai tzu ying mouth become a big O for couple of times:D

the biggest surprise upset of the day!
yang li lian beat yu hariyama
yang li lian improve a lot since last time i saw her in action:)
her back hand block and good defence is the main weapon that help her to beat yu hariyama
    compare to last time
li lian smash is harder and the biggest improvement is her placement of shuttle(deceptive shot) which score many points against yu hariyama
and she is fast enough to return the shuttle
after under sonia shadow for so long
she able to to beat sonia last year once time
    and now,she beat yu hariyama
surely, this will spur sonia to improve even more
it is a good sight for malaysia ws:)

actually i was not surprise that Li lian won today.

Yu does not seem to be like her old self and she is struggling against Stephanie who have left BAM a month ago.

Li Lian and Sonia have two different style of play which can be seen today.
Yes.. it will be good forMalaysia if these two girls continue to play.
(understand that these two girls are good scolar)

Both trained under a China Coach Shi since 13 years old and u are able to see the fine skills which was displayed by the two girls today is the result of good hard work of this coach.

    Watch-out for this girl

I was impressed with this young players. Is she just 17 years old!

From the way I see her play she is definitely a better talent than Sonia & probably Te Jing Yi. She has the kind of skills and mentality of an established players far more matured than her age.

First of all what makes me notice her is the way she attack the four corners of the court. This is what we see in those good old players.

Then she was calm when she is under pressure. In 1st game she was trailing 2-8 at one point but she could switch her tactic and to counter her opponent style of play. She has the vision and the ability to think! The rest of the game is history.

How often do we see young players today who is so tough mentally that are not afraid to play her more established opponent. Yu Hariyama did not play badly today but it was Li Lian who has that kind of ability to counter Yu's style of play.

I also noticed those solid sound when she smash or hard-tap the shuttle. It shows her techniques are so good and this is missing from the rest of those young WS players that compete today.

Her current coach did a good job in building a solid fundamental game in her and I really hope when its time she join her senior counterparts this rare talent do not falls in the wrong hands.

Lets just give a tough time to those Chinese WS players.
