if you have to choose 2 our of the 3 days to watch (fri, sat and sun) at the stadium/arena, which two would you choose? i can only pick 2 of them as i could not take anymore leave from work..... it is about 6 hours travelling from my place to Birmingham..... thanks!
Friday and Sunday . More matches on Friday than Saturday (maybe cheaper as well?) and well the finals are the finals after all .
I would say Fri & sat as you get more matches, but I suppose Finals are finals. Friday i definitely the best day, so don't miss that.
Since this yr is the centennial grand daddy of them all.. ..i'd choose Friday and Saturday (more interesting matches). However, if the Finals matches turn out to be a treat, then.... Imagine this scenario for the Finals: MS- LD vs. LCW WS- Most likely any of the Wangs from CHN playing against each other MD- Any 2 of the top 4 MD pairs squaring off against each other WD- Most likely it'll be CHN vs. CHN XD- Most likely it'll be CHN vs. CHN
2 out of 3 days i just don't get it - for those intending to go first 2 days and miss the finals? maybe you know your hero's not going to make it to the semi-final? if i have only 2 days to choose, i would go on friday and sunday instead of any other days.. for quantity & quality matches..
you are all so lucky, living in uk and nearby and for a.e. it's just a short flight for you all or maybe some of you bicycle there for one of the most prestigious tourney in the world! and you all still want to choose the dates? if i were anyone of you living there i would consider it as a yearly vacation holidays, take a week off, watch them training before the start, watch the newies in preliminary rounds (some funny) and then the entire tournament proper! but i am living so far, going there and back already take up all my holidays!
I am the luckiest as i only work down the road. I normally watch the Quarter Final on Friday evening straight after work and it only take me 5 minutes in walking distance.
Hi guys! Thanks for your valuable advices! I have just asked my friend to buy the fri and sat tickets~~ I reckon it is more worth the time to choose Fri and Sat as i am only interested in MS and MD matches..... It is a little bit difficult for me as I work in Edinburgh and it takes me 5 to 6 hours going down to Birmingham. I wish I could take a week off but I just simply can't ... because I am taking 2 weeks off for CNY (Yes, flying back to KL for CNY! I am so looking forward to it!) and I need to save some annual leave for this coming September (My best friend is getting married and I need to fly back to KL for the wedding dinner hahaha) I guess I will need to try using my laptop to watch it online on Sunday..... if the train's WiFi connection speed allows me to do so.... BTW, anyone of you will be there? Maybe we can meet up or watch together? Cheers!
Lucky Both of you are so lucky !!! As for choonie, your journey as mentioned is 6 hours, hence I guess you can only pick consecutive days. For me, if only 2 days, I will pick Fri & Sat because there are more courts in action (except in some tournaments they play 2 sessions on SF day).
value for money but not value for excitement, it's sure more exciting in the final but then again have to gamble who are in it. if your idol is not there just imagine sitting down there like the linesman!
Based on my experience, the best days to watch will be the round 1 and 2. You get to enjoy a lot of matches and witness upsets if any. Of course getting a season ticket and watch the entire tournament will be perfect.
what , you work on a sunday ! you got to book for all three days , watching the player progressing to the finals. Friday is 1/4 final and there are going to be some top/exciting matches there... Sat --1/2 final -there will be surprises (however I am not going on sat ) Sunday --I dont want to hype it up but it is the Yonex 100th year celebration, it is going to be a party atmosphere . I am guessing there will be (special guests-TBC) ,signing sessions , freebies, free prize draw etc ......... The tickets are going fast for this one ....Just grabbed a few today , decent seats location as well it is going to be a sell-out
Just choose the match you want to watch. Usually, the first two days are not very crowded so you get to transfer seat.
