He is a Legend in INDIA.... But I believe Tago is different because he is a JAPANESE.. Famous for their hardworking attitude & never give up mentality!
There was a thread I believe that discuss who is the best at the net. I think Tago can be nominated for that title. How consistant he will be, we have yet to see.
Tago has always been sensational at the net. From my observation, it's his other areas that have improved
i believe no one will count him out now as a title contender in any tournament and i believe he will be as great as taufik in future
He certainly has much better fitness than Taufik. Unbelievable fitness really, if u see him in real person you dont think he will be thjat fit,
Even just from the numbers you can tell he must be very fit . Now I just need to see the matches themselves... Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next. I'm glad he was able to give LCW a fight in the finals. That was the perfect outcome for me - LCW finally wins a big tournament, and Kenichi Tago the up and comer (hopefully) makes him work for it .
My initial guess (before seeing the actual match) on what Tago needs to be consistent at are: - Shot selection - Better shuttle placement
Kudos to Tago!!! but this is just one tournament we cannot really judge yet... maybe few more tournaments.... but credit to him for such good display how i wish those elite like TCS, CKB, CWF, LDR can do something like that
based on my observation from yesterday's MS finals, Tago-san has both of the above-mentioned in abundance. He managed get LCW all tangled up occasionally. What he really needs is experience especially in the unforced-error department. Tago-san screwed up quite a number of service returns as well as smashing out (only by the smallest margins, tho). but boy, Tago-san can cover the court as well as LCW himself!!! i cant recall Tago-san being wrong-footed by LCW by his tricks and flicks, cept for LCW's trademark cross-court smashes. Tago-san has a very lethal straight-down-the-line smash too!!
Actually, keen BCer's (especially PAWers) have been noticing him for some time. It's not just this tournament but tournaments for the past year or so. He must have done something to merit his WR 20.
exactly but you forgot to mention poorer defense than lcw and that's why he lost so close... with his style of play he must stay super duper fit everytime else he will just lost to anybody...
and also poor shuttle control when receiving service from opponents i think he gave at least 3 points...i consider that as nervous...
He got better than LCW last night and he was the one who deserved to win... If the line judge did not make mistake on the match point, Tago would have won the 2nd game and would eventually became the champ.
Now, come on. Reversing the wrong call, would only tie the game at 20-20, where it would go, we can debate forever.
