So, the only two I can support on the first day is KKK/WPT and Tago...
I think I can support Tago at 11 ;) But if it drags on to midnight I can't...

That's pretty impressive for a 19-year-old. But what happened to that 4-21 against PSH?

The first is KT's mother, the second his father. Both parents were top class players in their days, the mother was an AE and world women doubles champion and the father a finalist in the AE men doubles.

I was looking for his wiki page to get more info. (How come his surname is different from his father's? I'm curious about things like that.)

I have very high regard for KT. My only point is that everybody seems to be high praises when he reached the finals. Jan Jorgensen has also beaten top players. These are very promising players in the future.
Too much expectations from a player might end up pressuring him.

I like this piece of research. It's priceless for any rookie (esp MAS backups). They can show this to their coach and say 'My performance path maybe like Tago. Gotta go out early 8 times before taking off and going out late.'

Tago s AE display was just sensational. So enthralling he won some instant fans who supported him loud and clear all through his matches. Let's hope he catches on with the crowd in SO because crowd support helps bring out the best in any player, esp underdogs.

What's striking about Tago is his uncanny tactical sense. He must have watched a lot of TH videos.(He said TH is his idol.) Even his serve is like TH's.

TH is also my idol, but I did not see much similarity between the two during the AE... I saw more likeness between CL/LD and SWH/LCW. Uncanny similarities, in fact!

One of those loud and clear fans was me, even when I was sitting right in the middle of a Jia You block I was shouting IKE TAGO!! and everyone was looking at me wierd... probably because what I said didn't make sense or sounded wrong >_>

There seems to be some confusion whether Emiko Ueno or Yoshiko Yonekura is Tago's mother. Below is a list of the AE WD final between 1977-1980 (plucked from wikipedia):

1977 Etsuko Toganoo/Emiko Ueno beat Margaret Lockwood/Nora Perry
1978 Atsuko Tokuda/Mikiko Takada beat Emiko Ueno/Yoshiko Yonekura
    1979 Verawaty/Imelda Wigoeno beat Atsuko Tokuda/Mikiko Takada
1980 Gillian Gilks/Nora Perry beat Yoshiko Yonekura/Atsuko Tokuda

It shows Emiko Ueno winning once and a runner-up the following year. Yoshiko Yonekura, on the other hand, was runner-up twice.

One thing we know for sure, neither is his father (phew)

According to this article (Dev Sukumar – Upcoming Keeda, Mar 14/10)

"... Tago is the son of badminton-playing parents. His mother Yoshiko Yonekura was twice runner-up in the All England women’s doubles final. ..."

Unless the above is inaccurate, we have a winner (or should I say runner-up) – Yoshiko Yonekura

Good work! So you are one of the Tago propellents.
In fact this year's AE is outstanding because of the exuberant crowd. Previous years were concert-like, that's why some Finals matches were concert-like.
But this AE, the Finals matches were all 100 plus in quality.I'm sure the crowd got their money's worth and more.
Thank you for helping Tago show his mettle. We need more fans like you. Spread the goodness,ok. Let it catch on.

I didn't know who to cheer for in that match, so i stayed quiet.

I wanted LCW to win the AE so badly, and yet, Tago made a fan out of me when I saw him play in the Semis, and everyone loves a good upset...

I will for sure support this player in future, unless of course, he plays against CHN :p
