It's nice to see Alamsyah Yunus winning his first major title, ironically, after leaving the National Team. That complements his 3 Sirnas titles this year! That shows that a player still has a future if he/she trains hard!
Hehe, don't recall his name, which was why I misunderstood that he was a youngster All the best to him and Guru in the future.
Congrats for Alam. I am confident that he deserve to be at least top 20 if he properly manage his improvement, training and synchronize with wise decision of tournaments. Probably he will be like Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam, good contender for top 10 or 5, but that would be all.
That perhaps showed something a little bit inappropriateness of how PBSI manage suitable tournaments for their players of each level, experience, condition. There were many examples of INA players that should at least win 2-3 of GP or GPG first to enhance winning mentality rather than lost frequently at early rounds of SS caused by bad draw (there will be always bad draw, considering low rank).
I fully agree with your assessment! I also often complain to Hau-Ge as to why those players are risked playing in SS despite a terrible draw. Bona/Ahsan and Rian/Yoke are perfect examples. Alam's career has prospered since he left Pelatnas and that's due to better tournament planning and obviously he has benefitted a lot from the constant sparring with Fauzi, Bandar, and Adit in Sirnas. That moulds him to be a better player in the LR. Alam can still play at least 2-3 more years of pro badminton and I hope he can climb up to at least top 25 (like Andre).
The numerous IC, GP and GPG tourneys within Asia are also considered to be a blessing for pro players like Alam. He can also participate in: Malaysia Open GPG Indonesia IC Chinese-Taipei Open GPG Vietnam Open GP Indonesia Open GPG (if confirmed) Laos IC Malaysia IC Korea Open GP or Kaohsiung IC India GP
