The Spira 21 is already around somewhere because I've held it myself a few days ago and did a bit of free swinging (unstrung), although it says aerodynamic frame, I don't feel it is any swifter than my SIW35! Funnily and coincidentally a friend of mine who's just come back from a trip had a protruding racket handle from his knapsack and I was curious and had to ask and he oblige to take it out, so right there inside the Tube, I inspected it and did some free swinging. So, the release date might not be the same everywhere?
Yes, Release dates are quite different for each model. Usually comes out first in Asian, then North America and Europe. Some rackets are not available in all regions.
Anyways, I don't really care about the actual release dates because I've seen and held one already. Just hoping for someone to post their reviews of the Spira 21 soon! Frankly, I like my Super Inside Waves 35's paintjob than the Spira 21 but then all that matters is the playing characteristics rather than colour schemes (Well, to a lesser extent. Much like my TC 700, sometimes I like the green and sometimes it doesn't seem right but that's just me)!
I wish! I have held it in (inside the train, on the spot! w/ riders giving me a dismissive look, ha ha, I don't care, I just wanted to hold it and have a quick look and feel of it, pretty pathetic huh?) fleetingly...my free swinging (unstrung) of the Spira 21 meant very little except that I can say it is not any faster or head heavier than my strung SIW 35. Bending it (unstrung) isn't indicative of its true stiffness-level in comparison w/ my strung SIW 35. Colour wise, I like my fiery red SIW 35 than the subdued Spira 21. Therefore, I am eager for guys who've tried and tested it on the courts for at least 10 hours to give us all a better take on the new Spiral Wind technology of Spira 21!
...also, the shaft of Sprira 21 is shorter by a cm, the head is elongated by approximately .5 cm and a bit wider too than SIW 35. By feel, the shafts of both sticks seems to be the same stiffness but we all know that it will be different when the racket is strung specially due to the difference in shaft length as well as the elongated and wider plane for stringing, which will definitely alter everything! And by feel (even if the Spira 21 was unstrung) only, it is not as head heavy compared to SIW 35 but rather comparable. My gut feeling is that I'm going to stay with my SIW 35, but reality is...i/we never know for sure. Cheers,
The Spira 21 is available. I saw it at Chau Beng earlier. Doesn't seem to be head heavier or stiffer than the SW35.
Breaking news... The Spira 21 and new Bravesword 169 are in the post to me. I'll be reviewing them on 26 July when I return from holiday. Watch our for my reviews on my website www.badminton-coach.co.uk Paul
Currently deciding between a Spira 21 or another SW35 Waiting for a review of Spira 21 before I decide.
I think since you've had 2 SW35, just get the Spira 21 and review it, haha! You know, I'm also waiting but I only got 1 SW35.
cant wait till i get to see spira 22 in 2 weeks time... i am sure it will be on sale or to the least on display during Chinese Taipei Open.... Currently i am still using Sp21... i think i am the only one using it at the forum.... got it a month ago in TW.... no looking back since then.....
Wow, while most of us are salivating at the Spira 21... ...there's already a Spira 22 in Taiwan Open?
Any chance of a review for Spira 21 plkvoon ? Or anyone else for that matter. Hmmm... Spira 22 ? That deserves it's a new thread
actually i had done a simple review bout it last month at Victor(asia) thread..... i am not good a putting everything into writting... let me put into simple; very fast racket compare to BS series, and i love it.... it's a good double racket for me... could generate smashes with ease... very friendly racket for me as I love it the first time playing it.... the appearance of the racket kinda sucky though....
Manage to get my hand on spiral 21 today. Will put in 4 hours time with it tomorrow on court Hope to write a review soon. Just a quick guide on the feel when I hold the racket (strung), it feels head heavy, in fact, even more head heavy than my SW35, but when you swing it, the aerodynamic frame makes the racket swing fast even though its head heavy.
