I second that. In the current crop of men's doubles players, no one even comes close to KDM. He can both set up from the front and back of the court and finish a rally with lethal effect from anywhere in the court. his anticipation and vision and unbelievable perception of the game is incredible, he can find a gap to place the shuttle in (and he places the shuttle VERY well) in any opponent doubles pairing, whether MD (in which he is often let down by Ha Tae Kwon's injury problems) and in XD (nothing needs to be said here). He totally controls the rhythm of the game.

And we musnt forget about his female counterpart, Ra Kyung Min... who is equally lethal in the women's game of doubles. Indeed, when she plays mixed doubles with Kim, they seem to be playing more of a mens doubles style because Ra is such an all round player (she used to be a top 10 WS player btw).

yeah,.... agree... some people say tony or candra is a better player than kim... but i doubt that... that's because he plays both xd and md, and his stamina is much more *handicapped* than tony and candra (who plays only md).

Now or a few years ago or a decade ago or what? Each era have their very best. Tony definitely not the very best now as he was some four to five years ago, neither was Kim several years back.

If it comes down to Kim and Candra, i will have to say it's Kim...unlike Candra, he is still on the top of the world(both in md and xd) while candra is slowly falling out...but i still admires candra very much...GO CANDRA!!!

The two best ever doubles pair is definitely:

    1. Park Joo Bong / Kim Moon Soo (Korea)
    2. Ng Boon Bee/Tan Yee Khan (Malaysia)

Sigit B. is easily one of my favorite doubles player:). Flashy, fast and creative, he's simply a marvel to watch. However, I think Kim Dong Moon takes the best MD/XD player award simply because he wins despite his physical limits by being really smart with his game. In a way, I guess Sigit is flash and KDM is substance.

for women doubles,i would say it is ge fei/gu jun...their attacking plays and aso net plays are so good...it is never boring watching them play...

as for men doubles,my votes are in for ricky subagja and rexy mainaky-when they 1st featured for indo,it was interesting watching them play...and their are smashes are so aharp..movements so fast..

Back when I first began following world badminton, I must say Park Joo Bong. He is very much like Kim DM of nowadays, almost similar but much more ruthless if I'd say. And he is a little bit more versatile than Kim DM, able to chalk up victories from pairing with people other than Kim Moon Soo, at a higher success rate than of, say, Kim DM/Lee Dong Soo for example.

He is the complete doubles player back then - speed, power, smarts; making him a legend amongst doubles players.
