Talking about Kasyap, he is already more or less there on speed, footwork and power for the modern game. But there are 2 things that he would need to improve to go the next level. The first is fitness and energy management. Against slow-mo Hafiz, he was ok, but against Taufik in the Thomas Cup or LCW in Delhi, Kasyap was exposed at the final 3rd of the matches. Veteran players use pace and pressure during opportune moments. Taufik was never really in danger of losing to Kasyap in the Thomas Cup, he bided his time and took the necessary measures at the most opportune moment. Second is his tactics and patience. Against top players, Kasyap is not doing enough deception. A simple tap, change of pace, is just as lethal as a well-directed smash and with more economy too. If he could be patient against Rajiv Ouseph, he will take it but Ouseph has a point to prove and will have learnt from Kenneth Jonassen on how to frustrate technically superior opponents.
No all-Malaysian MS Final in Badminton: First time since 1990 Auckland CWG . Although I have not watched this match between Mohd Hafiz Hashim and Kashyap Parupalli, I am quite disappointed to read reports that HH was again looking so "lazy". Even vpsingh reported that TV commentators were saying so. Very disappointed to now hear that there will be no all-Malaysian men’s singles final in Badminton for the first time since the 1990 Auckland Games. Although credit should not be taken away from KP, it is still disappointing that HH appeared to be not trying at all. .
Just relax and calm down. Thats just habis hashim yoyo style. no matter how u shout or scold, he still be will the same. Same with his 'cool and lazy' playing style... Eg: thomas cup 2010 mas vs denmark
i dun think habis is lazy... that's the way he play.. he cannot change.. if he was to speed up.. he might end up making lotta mistakes. If u watch his glory days in AE2003... he wasn't a magnificent player... nothing special on AE2003.. just that he did everything right.
Yes, this has showed the declining of MAS in MS event in CWG........next edition of CWG we may see no MAS MS at all in final.......
just to add about kashyap, he is mildly asthamatic and suffers wheezing attacks. he likes to make xplosive starts in his matches against tougher opponents but as abedeng said when PK is unable to open up a lead his ability to manage his fitness in 3 games inevitably starts to hinder him he hinted to have learnt his lesson on this front after the BAC loss in 09 to BCL, PK had done xceptionally when in this tournament beating a korean player and the vietnamese TMN in 3 long games before his QF loss
yup, after the retirement of LCW, i don't think there is a representative for MAS in MS final in most of the tournament
It's really hard to find a gem like LCW... so far, none of the elite back up players shows any potential to replace him yet... Unlike in China, Chen Long is ready to take over...
Any idea anybody if both losing semi-finalists will be given bronze medal, or will there be a separate match for same?
..if not mistaken, in the 2006 CWG, there were Bronze medal matches in all of the individual events; so i would say barring any rule changes, they should have the same format..can check below.. http://www.melbourne2006.com.au/Schedule+and+Results/By+Sport/Badminton
No all-Malaysian MS Final in Badminton: First time since 1990 Auckland CWG . Sorry for my outburst. It's just that I was so disappointed to know that there will be no all-Malaysian men’s singles final in Badminton for the first time since the 1990 Auckland Games. .
It may be a blessing disguise for countries like India, England and perhaps Australia that they are catching up with Msia in the MS... which I think is a healthy sign... BOLEH...
can anyone please updates the semi final matches as soon as they're over? much appreciated! thanks in advance p/s: to Astro viewers/subscribers..
