What happened to Badminton skirts nowadays?

    .
Hahaha... As usual, we always become off-topic.

Going back to our question: Hey guys, what happened to badminton skirts nowadays? How come the women players don't wear them much anymore in the big tournaments nowadays compare to a few years ago?

Well, the question has been answered:

    Shorts are more practical because;

    * They provide better freedom of movement
    * They are easier to wash

And I would like to add in this one: They don't go flapping about when players jump up to perform their strokes.
    :):):)

 Hmmm: skirts, skorts or shorts [IMG]

Even less washing to do for WYH: can even do two in the same time as one of their current "shorts" [IMG][IMG][IMG]

These tight fitting shorts must be made from stretchable material

These tight fitting shorts must be made from stretchable material. Otherwise, I am sure these shorts would split/burst in no time. :):):)

No Chris, they're made from rigid, unyielding cotton. Ideal material for sports shorts so that they are irritatingly uncomfortable and guaranteed to restrict your movement. Whaddaya really think?

    You must be kidding. :D:D:D

Cotton material absorbs and retains sweat much longer than synthetic material. I wouldn't wear one if it gets heavier and heavier after every rally played. ;););)

 And may I ask who might the fine young lady in the picture be? Is she a badminton player?

Those are the type of shorts that tennis players wear when they practice, or what they wear under their skirts, it's called 'hot pants' :D, not shorts. The shorts are the ones that the female badminton players are wearing now, its kinda baggy and longer, and kinda ugly. Skorts look a lot more appropriate, like in tennis. :D.

These chicks are just smart wearing those tight and sticky stretchable short pants,

They get dry very fast and they also get wet also very fast,

either way it's cooler, more breathable and light weight as well :D

If you want one for yourself I think they are the Forza Ganni shorts (most certainly not what the tennis or volleyball players wear) ;). Weren't tight white shorts commonplace in the 80's? For both genders ...

Unless she's carying that racket for self-defense I think the chances are pretty high she is a badminton player :p. I blurred out the name since it's irrelevant for the topic ;).
