I'd be interested in that swivel base clamp as well. Let me know how much it is. As for the diablo, the string I usually use is Yonex BG65. It's a multifiliment string and have not notice any ghosting when using the diablo, but then again it's usually opaque so you can't tell.
I know what you are saying, but the stock photo is not always what is being sold. I always saw that Challenger 6 as the Chrome Challenger.
So, let me conclude all the message from you & maa2003 together, to buy a pair of the Pliers system T070 from arfaian cost 120 Euro (these don't include the double clamps), while to buy a Pro's pro challenger 6 which is 186 Euro which already includes the same base and double clamps. If this is correct then the latter one is a pretty good deal.
i asked for a machine with tx-600a clamps + wise tensioner. robin ford said that would be the challenger 6 so that's what i've ordered. shipment is delayed though so it will be a few more weeks before it arrives.
The Challenger 6 has gone back to using the same clamps as other Challengers, not the automatic clamps on the TX600A. According to Robin Ford the automatic clamps have a design fault that causes premature wear so he doesn't recommend them. If you want one of the automatic clamps then they cost £56 each. On Robin's recommendation I ended up ordering a Premium Stringer 3600 instead of Challenger 6.
My Challenger 6 just came in this afternoon. Boy it is so heavy (25kgs) and basically no assembly is required and yet I still had to do some adjustments. The ratchet is too tight and it doesn't drop by gravity, the turn-table is also stiff and I have to take all the M8 screws apart in order to loosen the bearing center screw a little bit and now it can turn freely. The side supports stick out too much for badminton I guess I have to start my fabrication (the side supports) earlier despite it is still cool working in the garage. I also have to prepare the mounting bracket for the Wise head. BTW, I have the double clamps and I already in love with them.
