I will vote for Tan Boon Heong. He is awesome at the back of the court. http://www.badmintonclip.blogspot.com/
Yeah! Fu Hai Feng because of this video and also the music...
It's got to be Fu Hai Feng, but Tan Boon Heong has an amazing smash too. Interesting to see that he uses the Yonex Ti-10. Is that even considered to be a Yonex high-end racket?
Fu than TBH , both brilliant and great power, angle , placement, steepness etc . if my smash is 60% of what their are I will be over the moon.
Personally, I would choose Halim Haryanto in his prime. Just watch 2001 AE MD match. Smashing power and angle were all phenomenal. FHF is a hard smasher, but I feel the placement and angle is not as great/consistent as Halim.
Does anyone have the official record of all these players' best / fastest smash during the World Championship in London? So far I only recall FHF fastest as 301km/h, is there any fastest smash than 301km/h during the Championship? Just curious to find out. Thanks.
Imo fastest smash or best smash is a whole different thing, not saying FHF's smashes aren't well placed because I think they are well placed.
. Actually, 'well-placed' is not as important as 'difficult to return'; be it that the smash is 'powerful and fast' and/or 'deceptive'. Sometimes a slower/deceptive smash can cause more trouble/problem than a harder/faster/more powerful smash .
That's right a really slow one down the middle works very well because your opponents have more time to think
Agreed, Kim Moon Soo is the smasher n Park Joo Bong is the strategic/tactical player, similar to Christian Hadinata/Ade Chandra, Indonesia Men's Doubles in the 80's.
I would vote to Eddy Hartono first and then would pleased to pick Candra Wijaya . Actually i love the way Eddy Smash.
I think it is unfair to compare plyrs fr diff generations......for last 10 years definitely Fu no contest !
TBH is a tall player. He can smash an awesome speed with a jump. What is the fastest smash he has made?
Can't you add a "me" category??? When you watch a smash on TV, you would be like :O with your eyes popping out thinking it is really fast, since I have the BWF World Championships 2011 and the All England 2011, whenever a player smashes it doesn't look that fast.Whoever has watched a tournament in the venue don't you agree with me?
maybe TBH and FHF can smash harder than JJS at one first shot. JJS is so consistent with smashing down at stiff angle like a smashing machine. Regarding the shoulder problem, the speed of JJS smashes seems slower. Looking at only smash, Ko Sung Hyun and Morgensen should be on the candidates as well. I didn't get to watch many games of Ha Tae Kwon. He seems too big for MD. I bet he can smash down.
Fu Haifeng for the power smash, but I do like those angled smash , and variations of JJS attacking play . The height he get is extraordinary , I actually seen him in training in an enclosed sport hall and the sound that came out of his racket was frightening. It sounded like a shot gun , which echo thru the entire hall.
