I do agree the finishing on MX80 is very good....i've multiple clashes so far with doubles partners and i only see 1 small paint chip so far....as for the rest of the "stains" i juz need to wipe off the paint that is leftover from the other racquet that clashes onto mine The MX80 lacquer coat seems to be very good and protective

But my BS11 paintwork is awful, my paint chips on the whole frame....really hugh difference when i compare the paint quality between this 2 racquets

 

Anyone want to buy all my surplus rackets so I can fill my bag with MX80s?



This is insane, but tonight I regripped my MX80 and thinned out the grip by only overlapping the REKP Supermaster grip only by a few mm and the racket's got even better. BP is now at 299mm

 

Maklike how do u measure the BP ?

 

I have a metal ruler and a straight edge to balance the racket on that I move up and down until the racket balances.

 

So how many MX80's are you buying ?

That's a bit weird, definitely the clearcoat lifting off in very small places. Your grommets seem like lower quality than mine, and your entire racket doesn't have as much clearcoat as mine does.

I wonder if it's an early production version or something?

The racket is TWB coded.

 

Mine also says TWB. But no defects.

Yours sounds like a factory second. Too many little cosmetic flaws. But it should still play the same.

 

What are the chances of fake Victor rackets popping up?

 

I think if that racket was like that within the warranty period then you should claim warranty. It's not like Victor is perfect - or any other company for that matter - just follow proceedure and be done with it. If outside warranty period, email the person you're buying from and see what they can do.

 

Air bubbles tends to happen for rackets with weaves or woven rackets. Because of the way it is rolled as opposed to being poured into a mold for regular graphite rackets. Regular rackets' paint tends to pregnate themselves with a bulge.

HENCE, that is why brand spanking new rackets have to be (like fine wine, left a while longer before bottling) left alone for the paint to settle (not just dry) and embed several months after production.

 

The paint and clearcoat happen after the moulding process, so it has nothing it do with the quality or otherwise of the finish. If the clearcoat is lifting off, then there is something wrong with the prep or the clear itself.

Bp before grip is Abt 304. After gripping is Abt 297. Great racket

its a 3u. i ask eric to provide me with the lightest 3U though...
