    Mens singles, HH took the first game against Takuma Ueda of Japan, and is up 14-13 in game 2... :)

    ST/RK of India finish their match against the Netherlands MD pair of RB/KR 21-18, 21-11

    Waiting for them in round 2 are KSH/YYS of Korea!!! :D

    Next up: Tine Baun against Kim Moon Hi of Korea.
    I hope Tine advances. Sooner or later she will be up against one of the Chinese (Wang Xin) and I'm hoping Tine will take her out. Makes the tournament more interesting! :D:D:D

    Meanwhile, Mitani Minatsu (geez! that's a lot of M's! :D) is comfortably leading Yao Xue of China, 5-3 in game 1...

    And good news for me: Tine leads 9-4 in game 1 already! :eek:

    I believe that Tine Baun and Mitani Minatsu should be able to clear Round 1 comfortably.

    :eek::eek::eek: Just as I have posted; Mitani Minatsu and Yao Xue (Q) (CHN) are having a 'ding-dong' battle at 20-all (in Game 1).

    And Yao Xue won; 22-20. :eek::eek::eek:

    I have to leave BadmintonCentral now. See you all later.

    I still believe that MM can win this match. :):):)

    Despite having many Chinese players entering this tournament, there is no China vs China in this first day of main round. In fact, only 1 India vs India and no other countries.

    But as it is getting closer to final, I expect to see more of all China matches so this round 1 maybe one of the interesting day of the competition.
