We never expected much from him in the first place, so beating LHI is quite a good achievement... but he is still being bugged by huge inconsistency. He can struggle against unknowns but put up surprisingly good fights against higher players.

Du Pengyu is next in the China Masters.

At least he proved himself once every few tournaments by causing upsets... he even took Taufik to 3-games twice... I say he has improved compared to the others who have shown NO progress at all.

I wouldn't call his loss to Tanongsak disappointing any more.

Tanongsak seems to be in top form.

He may have just lost to the eventual champion. No shame.

It sure looks like Liew Daren is creating upsets more consistently than before now... it's been 3 weeks since he dumped Lee Hyun-il..

Liew Daren bt. Simon Santoso 21-17; 21-15

    Wonder what happened to Simon...

Darren weakness is the 'consistency' of getting the shots in. Particularly when he's too complacent in hitting the shot. Fundamental errors. He should treat those 'easy' shots 'seriously'. ;)

He can go high if he try hard enough. Only himself to have the believe. ;) Same goes to ah chan boy... ;)

Dont be too harsh on him,i believe something did happen to him,if i am not wrong he had just beaten him in vietnam open not long ago rather easily in straight set.so judging from the score i think maybe he is injured.

Another LD in the making. Let teammate win and be fresh for next opponent so can get more ranking points.

    Ok, 2 possibilities..
    a)Injury
b)Let teammate win and be fresh for next opponent so can get more ranking points.

I think the 1st one should be most likely relevant to him as i know he's quite prone to injury though, hope that his injury is not that serious.

    I pick A.
LD is also very prone to injuries.
It's either George or me who is correct.

I agreed and i picked A too,but even though he is quite injury prone i think no one can deny that currently he is the best single in Bam after LCW base on his international result recently. What do you guys think?

Yes, his results compared to the rest of the back-up is much better, pretty much about the top 30 standard...
