Bought 2 Prince Racquets from a shop in Bandar Puteri Puchong @ 20/8/2011 One broken on mid sept after a light crash with partner, supplier refuse to replace a new one. I understand they can give that reason even it's a light crash, however, it really give me a big doubt on this racquet.. such a low quality. Should be manufacture in China... This is the racquet returned from the shop... All my buddies laugh for the low quality of the stupid Prince racquet. This is the shop i bought!! The owner won't call you even he promised will call back. You have to keep following up and end up with negative answer. Now the bad news... Remember i bought 2 racquets? The 2nd one broken yesterday after a powerful smash... Yes,, u r rigth, just smash on the shuttercock then it broken... What a terrible quality... I had sent it back to the shop, they say need one month to get back to me whether i can claim... Don't buy Prince.... i really regret... It use to be a good brand but now think all from China... really terrible quality.. IF you still want to buy, pls make sure you won't "kiss" on your partner's racquet, yes,,,, even a very very ligth kiss!!! Else... U cry like me..
It's common. I have the same problem too. After a thunderous smash, miscued on the birdie and i got this. This poor child is just a 1 month old fetus. This is an SG coded racket from the sole distributor. I even had to bear the insult of being accused of clashing it. Sure there were a few light 2mm paint chips. But which of this series doesnt (U can tell what racket this is)? The design is a chip magnet. I am a friendly player who rather lose the point than risk clashing my weapon or anyone's for goodness sake. The distributor nonetheless promised he will contact the HQ and let me know in a month. It has been >3 months and i havent got a call from him/her yet. No updates whatsoever nothing. Called once and went to the shop, got negative answers and a sorry guilty look each time. It happens to any brand. Even reputable ones. We cant complain too much since all are from China. Pray hard you have a sincere seller who seems willing to honour the warranty. He may call you soon. But for me, i have long given up the idea.
Most high-quality stuff are also made in china these days (just as the cheapo stuff you have purchased).. a $10 production cost racket would not be good graphite-material regardless if it is produced in China, USA, Vietnam, Holland, Japan or Malaysia.
On a related note, my mates NS9900 broke on a smash, but yonex usa gave a replacement although the store he bought it from was being an ass. Yonex usa finally declared it was a stringing error that caused the head to collapse much like in the second prince racket above. Took a bit of calling around, but he did get a replacement. most stores selling badminton rackets are small business that try to shirk warranties as much as they can i suppose. i have never had good luck with them.
Hi drmiketeoh, I thought this might be relevant, forumers have comment on the stringing pattern on the Prince O3 pattern. Might be the stringer's fault (ignorance or honest mistake)? http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/68303-Stringing-Prince-O3-Badminton-Racquets
my iphone4 also make in china but still good even drop 3 time i have TT2400,still good, strung 2 time @25lbs ,clash 2 time(small kiss) but still ok, ...u strung how high? normally prince recommended 25+-2lbs ...
it could be my fault to blame China manufacturing, they did have good quality no doubt very rare. However, this Prince racquet really fragile, understand why the supplier don't replace, they'll go bankcrupt if they replace all the customers... too many broken in 2 months times... Above racquet i strung at 26lbs.... terrible low quality...
A guy on here has the Prince O3 Hybrid Red (I think) and he says he strung it to ~32lbs and it was going strong last time I saw him post, so it can't be too bad. Sometimes it's luck, and small contacts can cause problems you don't notice till the racquet breaks.
Anyway, the shop Racquet Zone called me up this afternoon. Give me an brand new OverSize as replacement. As i know, the Prince supplier refused to do so even it's the racquet issue. I really appreciate the shop willing to take up the responsibility. At least, this shop: Racquet Zone is a shop responsible and everybody can trust! due to the appreciation. i bought 2 Yonex T-shirts as well... see...
I think, it's because...you post the shop photo. The owner no choice have to replace your racket..lol.
Im abouth to buy the same racket at the same store..is it really that bad, even with bird. wow... i have made some survey before at that shop..the price is about 200 - 300 right.
i guess the power of BC forum is extremely powerful lolz.. i think its good that people share their experiences about every1 i guess u have good shops n bad shops luck plays a part.... dun buy from some shop which u duno...or even some unknown online.. portal...i guess..
