    also depends on your stringer

if he's good and does manual with double pull, or has a prestretch function on his machine with ecp, then perhaps only 1 lb higher is needed to compensate for initial loss

however, i've also noticed that when it reaches the end of it's lifespan (for me, about 2-3 months), it suddenly drops 1-2 lbs more and becomes practically unplayable

Has anyone tried both the VS-850 and VS-800?
    How do they differ?

I have the VS-800 on my Bravesword 12 and i really don't like it. It feels very dull and i find it difficult to get power most of the time. (Very well have been due to a bad string job.)

Thinking of cutting them and restringing with Yonex or Ashaway because i can't stand it

Just strung my SW37 with VS850 at 27 lbs not long ago. The VS850 at such tension really need correct technique and swing. Am now thinking to try BG66UM or NBG98. Not sure what tension thou. Maybe go for 25/26 lbs again.

I've tried all 3 strings but not on the same racket. At 24lb vs850 feels the hardest and 66um feels the softest to me.

Can anyone tell me about this string in terms of feeling-soft, medium, hard?
If it is similar to BG80, it is hard.
If it is similar to NBG 98, it is medium.
If it is similar to BG65, it is soft. I am looking for a soft string.

    it is hard.

the signature property of the string is the feel. it provides very good feedback.

the bad part about the string is that it goes dead after 2 weeks.

I still struggle with the definition of the 'feel' of a string. I don't know how something described as 'hard' feeling like VS850 can have such a soft touch at the net.

ps: It doesnt say anywhere on the packet how hard or otherwise it is. :p

my definition of feel is less about how hard/soft it is, but the feedback.

one of these days when i get really old, i will go back to bg65. pre-stretch the hell out of it and string it higher so it keeps tension.
