Im a intermediate level and in january almost beat someone who plays for England and really want to improve
Define play? You want to play abroad in tournaments independently? Or play as part of the national squad?
I doubt you will have nearly beaten him since you are intermediate, if so I doubt he actually plays for England , also I doubt he was actually playing properly when he was playing against you , lastly he must been in junior under 13 perhaps, The standard in England is not as bad as you made out to be !! Post some videos so we can judge !
Not withstanding, it's a good incentive to participate in the game. What you need is to work on technique with a coach(there's lots to learn), lots of time on practice, determination and then get results in tournaments. It's not that quick a process but welcome to the game and good luck. Keep us informed of your progress.
Yeh, think you would need to play in a seasons worth of ranking tournaments. You know all the England silver and gold tournaments, accumulate ranking points, and depending how well you do in these you could get invited into the elite tournaments or the tournament finals, kinda like the UK version of super series finals. Just aim to do well in these. if you can win a few and climb up the rankings ..... They will find you.....You have to register with badminton England to play in these. And I'm sure if you play any kind of intermediate club level you already are? Just look on badminton England website for information on when and where the silver and gold tournaments are held. They are normally all around the country. And you get more points the better you do obviously. Hope that helps. I've played in a few. Upper county standard 90% of the people would be. Oh and Yeh join your county team. Unless your number one or 2 in your county, then look towards national level...... Single game doesn't really give much of an idea.....
his name was Craig smith, he did play very well just i keep driving it across the court or dropping it so he couldn't smash it
so he's about 16? http://www.dorsetbadminton.co.uk/juniors/Latest/Lynlette-Aung-Selected-for-England.html
If you want to play at a high level then you need to get into an academy of some sort. You will be playing and doing physical training every day. It wont be cheap.
Play Gold, then Gold star age group events. When you are reaching the latter stages of Gold star you will be noticed. Qualify and play the age group nationals, and the age group above. Play senior events (silver probably) in your area, make progress in those.
yes i am good but need to improve my game to join england, but it is not just that how do you get noticed
good technique is important , but the thing that will get you notice is excellent footwork !, that would make you stand out from the rest.....
