How do you further reduce tension by 2 lbs once it's strung and used for a while ?

I've a racquet used for feather but I want to use it for plastic now and would like the tension be further reduce by 2lbs.

I'm thinking of using a moving hair dryer blowing hot air over the string or putting the racquet in the car on a hot day.

Any other better ways beside restringing?

You're not going to do anything by heating them or leaving it outside. If anything you'll make the frame of the racket defective. If you truly want the whole racket to accurately be reduced by 2 pounds you will have to get it restrung.

just play with it. 2lbs isn't that much of a difference.

    Thanks Chewablemorphin,
I mean low heat setting over the string, the worst it can do is rendering the string useless. (Hardening)
As for it to be in the car, it will be evenly heated up. As long as it’s not super heated, it should be OK, right?

    Thanks Kwun,

Mine worry is my backhand return from base will only be able to reach opponents mid court.
However, I can always play this racquet with less challenging opponents for the time been.
Beside, court’s temp is getting warmer now, the string will be a bit looser. (1/2 lbs)

2lbs won't make the bird travel an extra 5ft. Go with what you got, if anyone I knew complained about losing because of 2lb overtension, I'd simply laugh at him, ask him to pick any racket in my bag (strung anywhere from 23 to 28lb) and beat him again using the racket he picked.

    urameatball,
    Thank you for you input.
No, No one is saying over tension by 2 lbs make you lose a game.
I also have racquets range from 21 to 27lbs of tension and have played at 27lbs with plastic.
My question is how to further reduce tension by 2 lbs.
It’s mainly for comfort from feather to plastic as well.
Yes, my backhand return will be affected partly ‘cos plastic will start to descend sooner than feather and I’m from generation W.

Try practicing smashing for 30mins and hit hard! This will stretch your strings and in return reduce tension.

    diverdan,

That's one way, better than hiting the racquet's bed on your knee? or head?? a number of times to soften it.
Sounds good and will try that out. Thanks.

I play with it yersterday night, surpisingly I can managed backhand return to 3/4 of Racquet opponents' court and it play well.
Racquet is AT 700 Premium 2012 with 27lbs pre stretched.
I will just play with it, maybe this will be my new tension for plastic.
I was having the feeling that 27lbs is too high for plastic.
    Thanks guys.

Put it down on the driveway in front or your house and put one of the front wheels of your car on the blade for about 1 night, that would do! Np they won't steal it because your car is on it!

No but seriously, I would recommend just letting it be, just try playing with it, 2 lbs is kind of hard to feel when you are playing with plastic and playing with plastic when you are used to feather is hard and will feel odd anyways...

Take ur racket n support the shaft part n left the frame hanging out.
Then put a helmet on the string n after while string will deform or softer!
The heavier weight the faster the proceed takes.

The question is how u know by wat time ur string is soften to 0.8lbs n not 2lbs.
    Its all subjective n feeling....
So what i trying to say its easy to say by 2lbs or 1 lbs but how u know by then?
    By feeling mates.....
