Lee So Hee/Chan Shin Seung will be hot contender for gold medal here for sure.

But, i believe if the German Junior 2012 winner Melati/Rosyta(they beat 4 of KOR GD pairs in here, and some of the KOR GD are playing here too), Rosyta is still 15, she is the best talent for GD that i have ever seen from the past few years! And please remember last week in INA Open SSP, Melati/Rosyta nearly beat Eom Hye Won/Jang Ye Na, the world number 14 in 3 games!!:eek: No worry. Rosyta still availabe in juniors tourney for another 3 years, if i am not wrong.:p

Yes, there seems to have been more of it since the Korea Open moved back to Seoul in 2006. That same year, we had the World Juniors in Incheon and then in 2007, the first Korea Int'l Challenge was held in Suwon. Prior to 2006, though, everything was in the sticks. The Korea Open was in Cheju a couple of times around the turn of the millenium, back when Kim Min Jung and Park Sung Hwan were still in middle and high school there. After that, it was in Yeosu, Incheon, and Chungju and the 2004 Asian Juniors were in Hwacheon (pop. 24,000 for the entire county), which I haven't even heard of apart from that event.

What's more, only one nation-wide elite badminton tournament has been held in Seoul in the last 11 years.

Also, the 2009 Korea Int'l Challenge was in Hwasun.

Maybe someday KOR also will host BWF event : WChamp, TUC and Sudirman Cup ;)

OT : Overall, KOR has capability to host major events in sport : 1986 Seoul AG, 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics, 2002 FIFA World Cup, and the upcoming 2014 Incheon AG, 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, wow!

The problem is crowd attendance. There's no pt for the KOR SSP to offer the most prize money but at the end, only a handful of paying spectators.

coming to a court near you...
Tai-phoon and Rat are now "seniors" and shouldn't even be considered for an event like this. Small potatoes for them.

The Koreans might not be agressive enough in selling their KOR SSP event to their own citizens... They might consider involving more Kpop stars to promote KOR SSP and be among the audience to increase 'star value'... In INA Open SSP, Miss Indonesia was there, Project P [the funny comedian singers] were there, sexy vixens and handsome Eurasian stars from our TV dramas were there.. former badminton greats were there... oh, Agnes Monica [INA's top singer] was there as a paying spectator...

Korea should involve more of their Kpop stars like this.... 1Arumi-B-berpasangan-dengan-Haryanto-A.jpg 1Della-Concetta-berpasangan-dengan-Chandra-Wijaya.jpg 1Denny-bersiap-serve-kok.jpg 1Ekspresi-kegembiraan-Arumi_-B.jpg 1Sylvia-Fully-berpasangan-dengan-Tontowi.jpg

For the possibly 5-0 match against Mongolia in the evening, I believe INA will field different players in each event as a warm-up match:
    BD:
    Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama

    GS:
    Setyana Mapasa or Russely Hartawan

    BS:
    Arief Gifar Ramadhan

    GD:
Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari

    XD:
    Alfian Eko Prasetya/Shella Devi Aulia

It will be the match against TPE on Sunday morning that will be crucial and INA will probably field the best team against them. It will be a difficult encounter.

Saina did not actually attend any junior events between the 2006 and 2008 WJC. Tai, similarly, skipped the AJC and WJC during the Olympic qualifying period and the AJC during Olympic preparation time. Ratchanok is skipping this junior event to prepare for the Olympics and like Tai and Saina, she skipped the AJC during Olympic qualifying, but she did play WJC last year and she may play two more. That remains to be seen.
