Not looking good for them in knock-out stage with possible scenario below :

    Bona/Ahsan (B2) v Chung JS/Lee YD (D1) - QF
    Polii/Jauhari (assuming they're runner-up of group C) v Wang XL/Yu Y (A1) - QF

who cares to check about those stats at first?

The more important thing here is to bark more often and louder, to whitewash some players and bash the others... it's all that counts! ;)

ps. it's somehow compensating to win though it's just in empty words

    Two-member Group !?

It's rather perplexing to read out the so-called GROUP yet it has only 2 players :p

though linguistically it can't be wronged to call anything > 1 as some <--> group :D

I don't think so. I think this is excellent draw for Chinese WS. I think the final will belong to WYH and LXR. It is the the true final without any doubt of fixation. If WYH plays her normal games she will be in the final. The most recent nonchinese player who beat her (Sung) is on the other half. There is minimal chance for Saina or Tine to beat her. On the half LXR will be the queen among the young talents and will beat WX in the semifinal. Saina is the most the recent nonchinese player who beat her but again Saina is on the other half. I feels so happy for LXR to avoid WYH until Final.

I'm sorry, but for the benefit of those of us who are still ignorant, could you please tell us why it is not respectful to use the word.

because "indon" is used as a derogatory term to call Indonesian (akin to calling 'nigger' to a Black person). Just use Indonesian, or INA if one prefers to the short form.

I dont know about other countries, but Malaysians tend to use that term to describe their INA domestic workers. Maybe that's why the INA ppl find that offensive and disrespectful from the Malaysians, not sure about Singaporeans.

As far as I know, that word is only used in Malaysia.

Unless the same applies to Singapore.

I don't know about etudiant but I myself as an Indonesian prefer not to be called with Indons, no particular reason, just because we never use that word so I don't know why other countries should. It's not really hard to post full complete Indonesian words.

    Thank you for your explanation.

I think we should respect the views of our Indonesian friends and refrain from using the shortform in future. We may mean on harm but it may mean something disrespectful to those affected. If we were the victims, we would also not like it.

As regards Indonesian maids in Singapore, normally we address them by their names.

I just noticed that this will be the first Olympics in 3 occasions where Petwr Hade won't lose to the eventual champion as he isn't in LD's side of the draw...

Unless of course he gets to the final :)
