    To win:
    Taufik
    Luluk/Alven
    Xie Xingfang
    Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen
Zhang Jun/Gao Ling (sticking my neck out here since I still don't know if they've progressed to the final)

Wow ... there's a difference between who you want to win and who you think will win.

But you could be right, too.

I bet Alvent/Luluk win. They used to be my favourite pair. Although the head-to-head favour Cai and Fu -- 5-1, I believe they still can win.

In MS, Taufik sure win. Chen Hong has never beaten him once before and also lost to him in the same stage last year.

    My bets:

MS: Taufik is too strong for Chen Hong, even when Chen Hong is in top form...Chen Hong was very impressive last year, but was still beaten by Taufik in the 2003 IO Final...

MD: Alven/Luluk should have no problem winning, i say winning in straight sets

    WS: Xie Xingfang for sure

    WD: Yang/Zhang reigns supreme!!

    my prediction:

MS: Taufik - Taufik is unstoppable in Jarkarta, esp when the opponent is Chen Hong who has never been able to penetrate the smart Taufik with his mostly predictable game. as said, the final of the IO has already been played, that was Lin vs. Taufik in the semi-final

WS: Xie Xingfang - who's this Hirose person?

MD: Alven/Luluk - the next generation has arrived, faster, smarter and more powerful and top that with good attitude.

WD: Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen - the only pair in the world who has the potential to beat Yang/Zhang is either retired or in poor form. and Zhang/Zhang are not one of them.

XD: Zhang Jun/Gao Ling - see WD above.

Japanese WS players have been making inroads lately. For instance, the girl that won the Taiwan Open came from nowhere. From news report, Hirose is 21 and coached by Park Joo Bong.

Sigh, Lin Dan, without looking at really match, based on what Taufik said to reporters, I guess the side they played was the deciding factor. Lin and Taufik both had easy play when they were in the "right" side, that explained why 15:5 and 5:15. And after the 3rd set middle swap, Lin was unfortunately in the wrong side when finishing up the match. Lin is not good enough to pull off to beat the wind condition.(who can, on top of that the other side stands taufik in his homeland...)

The only different prediction I got from Kwun's is China get to keep the MD title.(maybe wishful thinking too).

MS: Unlike other people, I think this final is going to be very exciting. Taufik somehow seems to perform better when he's the underdog.

Chen Hong is hot after beating Bao and might give Taufik a surprise. However I predict Taufik to win in 3 set.
