hey, i can sleep for 13 hrs just play majong the day before the trip and she will sleep like a cat on the plane. 13 hrs will go by very fast.
dear cooler, excellent advise but it won't work for her. she only spent 50-60% of her time in HongKong...so you know she's a frequent flyer...she actually gets some kind of "airoplane phobia"...and that's the reason for going to Japan for skiing (PS besides her business trips, in 2004 we had gone to Japan, Australia, Europe for pleasure trips already) thanks anyway.
There you go. Problem solved. Calgary is less than 2hrs from Lake Louise. Cooler probably drop by there every weekend.

I walked home with 2 other friends after badminton, about 3 km walk (took about 1 hour). It was late at night and it was the coldest night we had here in toronto with wind chills up to -40 degrees celcius. I know we were silly but we made it!

"Things will probably shut down on Tuesday with the snow coming in," said Mike Palmerino of DTN Meteorlogix. "The clean-up will then slow things down on Wednesday," he added. The storm was expected to slow the movement of hogs and cattle to market, which should support live cattle futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on Monday. The storm will bring strong winds, blowing snow, rain and thunderstorms to the Midwest early this week. The forecast for Tuesday called for snowfall ranging between five and 12 inches. Wow, nice pics, cooler. You Westerners are real Canadians. Here in Halifax yesterday the news talked about a "big snow storm" coming. It accumulated to 10 cm by 1900h. Turned to rain by 2100h. This morning we awoke to clear streets and a balmy 10 degrees. Everyone was paranoid, but in the end, nary a shovel was injured. We'll have to toughen up like you Albertans. What's the secret? ______________ To silentheart: Sorry for your loss. I hear that asian guys don't start out with much in the first place. But now it should be easier to squeeze in a seat on the "L".
I haven't experienced snow. But if it's that bad like the pic above, I'd rather not. I wish there would be a little snow in my country. Even just for a while.
______________ Happy to share some secrets with our bf members 1. eat alberta beef and rice. Chicken, fish, pork, bread, pizza, etc are ok but they can't hold back hunger longer or better than a thick slab of alberta beef steak furnished with rice. 2. put away the feathers and start smacking those plastic shuttles. Cumulation of plastic shuttle vibration off the racket is like getting million of mini electric shocks, it toughen your muscles, joints and build character and resiliency. It make u weatherproof so to speak 3. you must include some 'hard' water in your daily fluid intake, like those from calgary's faucet water. Soft of water will just whistle right thru the kidneys like catching the niagara fall with a net (ie, u pee alot). Calgary water contain natural mineral, sediment and some added chlorine to give a man - True Grit and u don't need to go pee so often The fine sediment also assist in digesting that steak dinner. Having chlorine in the blood system will fight off any nasty critters like the h1n1 and what not. These things should give u a good start on it
If you don't mind.. ..hopping on a plane and flying westward and seeing a little amount of man-made snow, then how about visiting Snow World in Genting Highlands (M'sia)??..
But I think nothing beats real snow. But of course I don't know 'coz I haven't seen it yet. There's a snow making maching, though, in our country. Might visit.
