I agree, you absolutely have the right to think that it is cheap that Lin Dan may participate in WC via wild card, but you also have to know that wild cards are there for their purpose and I think for the good of the game, to have Lin Dan play in this WC is a good thing for the game. Lin Dan may lose the first round, last a little longer or win the tournament, that is his only concern, but for us, the spectators it is a gift to have him participate and compete.

    Best Regards.

Ok good, he did have enough points to be eligible so you can stop whining.

not quite sure why we bother, but here you go.

Lin Dan with 30673.4114 points actually has more points than the other 35 (i.e. more than half) that are qualified.

fyi, the last qualifier has a mere 8810 points

    As of 25th April
    • World ranking date to determine those eligible to enter
Lin Dan was ranked 41 and had 30673.4114

PLAYERS RANK ON DATE
TOTAL NUMBER OF PLAYERS FROM ONE ASSOCIATION
1 TO 8
     4
25-150
     2

As you can see at rank 41 Lin Dan was well below the rank of 150 and eligible. China could have sent Chen long and Lin Dan if they wanted. There is a guy ranked 170 in the world playing. It is all semantics about who deserves to be there .

Because China did not send Lin Dan and BWF gave him a wild card so he could participate. But to say it is cheap for him to be there is wrong. There are many selection processes in place to allow even a 170 ranked player to participate, that's the way it is. For you to decide that one of these processes is cheap is just silly.

Yes, I think both of them should get nominated for "most patient to a newbie" award. :)

the whole team were climbing a mountain called Mount Lao, or Laoshan (崂山) near the training base.
apparently, they doing that all the time.

The beer of the Tsingtao Brewery is said to have been brewed originally with Laoshan spring water.

LD is a complete stick on for WC. cant understand all you guys who think he shudnt be there didnt BAM use same thing when WC was in Kuala Lumpur mmmmmmmmm double standards i think. LD is best ever & I firmly believe LCW is 2nd best ever. Had LCW been born at any other time he wud have been best in his generation. This has happened in ever other major sport. Just tough luck on LCW the best player ever LD is in his generation....Major trophy count proves this. Case closed LD #1, LCW#2.....cant change & wont change....You can Boleh all you want but im sorry LD is better.....oh so is CL now..
