no way! this is NOT happening, but it is true,,,,, where is lin dan in all of this? wow, that sure is weird, but like some said, the gold medal seems to be good enough to get the award poor lin dan,,,,(sobbing) taufik upsets lin twice now, first winning og when lin was the 1st seed, second this,, well, i say i/we should be happy for taufik and congratulate him bothld and th are my fave, and if either one won, then it would make my day, im proud with taufik, just that i thought lin dan was the most deserving well, gade~camilla, i guess wat u wanted just happened yay, go taufik

Olympic > other international badminton event in my opinion Anway Taufik deserves it because he showed that he had matured Well as for Lin Dan, he still has a long way to go, not untill he fix his arrogant attitude.. he wont get the title hehehe No offence, peace~
Taufik really deserves the award. He has changed alot since his younger rebelious days. Now he has matured and still willing to learn and listen. Kudos Taufik.

Ermmm .... I don't know what to say. On what criteria did they pick Taufik? Surely not because he has matured a lot etc. Yes, the Olympic gold is a very big deal, but there were 7 other Olympic gold medallists, and all of them dominated their respective events better than Taufik. Honestly, even in the men's singles department, I have to say the year as a whole belonged to Lin Dan.
If this is the case, then How about Zhang Ning, who won the OG and other international comps. I am Just sad because dont think ZN will get another Chance to win it. What swung it for Taufik IMO is he won the two biggest of the year for Him (continental champs and OG) and his home event Indon open (beating Lin Dan No.1) and won OG unseeded.

weird that china only got 1 so far, since theyre so dominating taufik won, i guess the reasons are: -he won olympic -continued winning io for the 5th time -he came back from career downfall in 2004, started out by winning abc, then his peak was in og -after his og gold, he became more mature and reached semis (mature as in not exploding on court too often, i cant remember he did that after og ) im soooo happy for him, really, really, really happy but,,,,,,,wat about lin dan? yay taufik!
