Chris Adcock/Gabrielle White of England rewrote history by becoming the first English pair to win the XD title since Martin Dew/Gillian Gilks who won in 1985. They also created history by becoming the first-ever married couple to win a SS XD title.
CA/GW won the first quite game quite easily with the score of 21-14 but the Chinese pair of Liu Cheng/Bao Yixin couldn’t capitalize on their lead in the second game and lost 22-24.
Congratulations, CA/GW on your historic win.

I could say the same about Wang Yihan. If she had been as sharp and focused as she was in the first game, she would have taken it in two straight easily.

It is very clear to me that Wang Shixian is lacking something crucial in her game, and is an inferior player compared to LXR and WYH. She might be able to beat those two, but she'll have to rely a lot on their tiredness and the resulting mistakes rather than on her actual play, if you know what I mean. If LXR and WYH are on top of their game and on the attack the whole way through, WSX has no chance.

ETA: Hadn't realized the win by the Adcocks as a result of tuning in late...wonderful, just wonderful!

I was trying to imagine how both of them could do so in one Osim chair, sitting on his thigh.

To avoid further argument Osim should come up with a Siamese Twin chair when the couple can enjoy together in close quarters, holding hands and listening to their favorite music. Imagine that they had just completed winning their match a moment ago.

However they might get a surprise not long after when Mrs gave birth to twins!

No quarters given to team mates when Lee/Yoo just managed to beat their younger compatriots Kim2 in three games for the MD title.

Perhaps. I think what is lacking in WSX is still a sharp smash, sudden and a bit more violent. Once she has that, she can continue rallying in the way she is specially proficient at to create opportunities for unleashing the killer smash while keeping her opponents at bay and constantly wary of it.

Yeah, Bao Yixin twitched her right arm a little, may get a bruise there later, Tang Jinhua accidentally hitting the shuttle at her there from behind.

Now the start of the all-China WD final. While the more experienced pair of Bao/Tang wear purple tops and skirts, the new pair of Ou/Tang are in white tops and purple shorts.

They are now level at 6-all,

CHN keeps producing so many worldbeaters in WD that I'm having difficulty remembering some of their names and recognizing their faces. Now it's Ou Dongni and Tang Yuanting, the other time was the Luo twin sisters, namely Luo Yu and Luo Ying, another pair is Huang Dongping and what's her name(?), etc.

Set my alarm at 5.30 for the MS match but they are just starting the 4th match of WD.
Hmmmm. I am off to washing my car and some gardening and back on the tv at 6.30pm.

The younger WD pair giving the slightly older and more established pair as good as the get. The pint-sized Ou is not to be under-rated, her clears to the back are pretty good.

Their rivalry is apparent, the still relatively new pairing of Bao/Tang won't relish losing to their upcoming juniors threatening their position.

Tang Yuanting is a good, hard-hitting smasher, not inferior to Tang Jinhua.

The Adcocks will definitely be gunning for the majors next year (AE and WC) after the SS victory today. INA pairs typically have problems facing European pairs and Owi/Butet will definitely have to step up a gear if they want to retain the AE & WC titles.

Not bad, the youngsters aren't giving up G2 despite being 9-1, 10-3 down earlier. Now they've reduced the gap to 11-15.

Done. Bao/Tang sealed the decider by 21-15. Now, let's see how far Sony can go with mighty LCW. Can he achieve scoreline > 15? Can he steal one set? :D
