It's Zhang Wen not Zhang Wei who is a coach.

Dare I say Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan will be gone soon with these emergence of young players.

Qiu Zihan's fitness level is really bad for a professional player.

There are already too many coaches from Jiangsu province in CHN national team. If Cai Yun was chosen as the next head coach, players from Jiangsu province would have great advantanges over the others.
I would like to pick Li Gen (LYB's son) as the next head coach! :D

Hui Xirui has to perform much better than this if she's not to disappoint next week at the BAC. Why didn't CBA send Liu Xin, Sun Yu or Yao Xue ? Looks like it'll be down to WSX alone to take on all the ROW.

Liu Xin's stroke play is so consistent, accurate, so few mistakes - just like WSX.

It seems that CBA gives WSX a final test for Uber Cup. Look at the draw, all her opponents are WS2 of the other team. Also, WSX never win this title.
As to Liu Xin, I guess that she is probably considered as a secret weapon in CBA in case of some unpredictable problems happening for the Big three. Pretty like the role of LXR in 2011/2012, when both WSX and WX were unstable.

You may be right that LYB wants to gauge her strength and toughness for the Uber Cup. Actually, at the BAC, the other Uber Cup squads also send their top WS, such as Intanon R (all the THA top 4), Sung JH (and Bae YJ), Tai TY, PV Sindhu (whom I consider better than Saina), etc.

I also suspect Liu Xin is one of CHN 's reserves, maybe Yao Xue is the 2nd one (or possibly Sun Yu ?).

Just as I speak, Shen Yaying is beating Yao Xue.

Interesting, another player - Shen Yaying, comes from Bayi team and takes G1 21:19
Wang Xin, Li xuerui, Liu Xin, Shen Yaying, maybe more. Bayi team is surely the powerhouse in CHN WS. No wonder why they've taken the two gold medals in the CNG.

Thanks for telling me Shen Yaying is from BAYI, another up-and-comer.

Yao Xue has a strong offense, a bit weak in defense and prone to simple errors (almost like LXR). What impresses me most is her devastating smash, reminds me of Tine Baun, the hardest-hitting smasher in WS. She could use some coaching, I think Shen Yaying is reading her game well.

Shen Yaying duly knocks out Yao Xue in two straight games, 21-19 in identical score.

It's going to be a piece of cake for Liu Xin tomorrow. To meet her younger sister from the same team.

No wonder so few foreign players dare to play in CHN when even their own National Team players have to be wary of their 2nd stringers, 3rd stringers, juniors and relative unknowns.

Originally, I was looking forward to Liu Xin vs Yao Xue WS Final and , hopefully, see YX exacts her revenge on LX for her last defeat. Out of the blue comes Shen Yaying to spoil the party.

At the same time, I didn't expect Liu Xin to crush Hui Xirui mercilessly. dieter_spath, I'm inclined to agree with you, the WS title is Liu Xin's to lose.

Gone after the Cai/Yun vs Wang Yilv/Zhang Wen MD match.

Like you, I'm keen to watch the rest of the matches; maybe you're only interested in the XD match between Wang Yilv/Xia Huan vs Liu Yuchen/Luo Ying, I reckon.
