Did Lin Dan make a contract with yonex? I kinda have a feeling since his racquet just says LD on the string bed also he was using yonex grip powder.
His shoes look similar to that of the Adidas QuickForce 7 however without the 3 silver stripes showing adidas, his racket which is black has a standard 72 hole from one of the close upsNone of the newer yonex rackets use the 72 hole mostly all of them are 80 holes now If his sponsor is adidas then adidas may be waiting until they have finally fully finished producing the specs/paint etc for the racket that LD is using to then sell - All for marketing purposes as more and more people want to know what he is using!
Racket - Adidas or Li-ningShoes - AdidasPowder - YonexClothing - Li-ningSocks - Li-ningString - ??? Apart from this other sponsors like Redbull so onMultibrand sponsorship for Lindan ?
What a performance from Lin Dan during his "comeback tournament". He's certainly making a case for himself, in regards to the WC wildcard. Winning a GP Gold tour is the best achievement for many of the players even in the top-20, and Lin Dan did it in style, not loosing a single set during the week. Only Zhengming Wang pushed him a bit in the first set in the semi, but then it was over. I'm looking forward to see him continue his quest in the Asia Championships. I really thought the Asia Championships had a stronger lineup - it seems that Lin Dan's draw will give him his biggest challenge already in the first round (tomorrow), when facing the new young India rising star Srikanth. If Lin Dan is up to speed in the first round, and passes that test, it seems the 2nd round will be almost a walkover, and first seed Boonsak Ponsana is probably waiting in the quarters (who I can't really see beating Lin Dan currently, but you never know if experience is the key here rather than speed and hunger to win). What's your expectations of Lin Dan's Asia Championship participation?
Is it too much to expect Lin Dan to win back-to-back tournaments after he has just come back from a long hiatus when even the mighty LCW who's been competing actively is beginning to find it harder to do so ? Frankly it's not only his fitness/stamina that will be tested but also his feel for the game. Already in R1, he's up against a tough opponent in K Srikanth, then in R2, Chou Tien Chen is not much easier, and his likely QF opponent may not necessarily be Boonsak Ponsana but could just as well be Wei Nan, Lee Dong Keun or Darren Liew - everyone a tricky prospect . Should Lin Dan clear the three hurdles, his SF face-off may be the up-and-coming Kento Momota or the extraordinary late bloomer Hu Yun. Lastly, if Lin Dan moves into the final, awaiting him could be the dangerous, supremely fit Son Wan Ho or,possibly, Chong Wei Feng, Tanongsak S, the reliable grinder Nguyen Tien Minh, or even P Kashyap. Come what may, we're in for a treat starting tomorrow. Great to see Lin Dan back !
Son Wan Ho is certainly a dangerous prospect, personally I don't see Srikanth posing much of a problem. He's talented, but unless LD is really down in the dumps physically his eye and deception will keep Srikanth off balance and harmless most of the time.Matches that could be very interesting would be Boonsak, Hu Yun and SWH, as they're all pretty calm players and SWH has excellent court coverage to make up for the missing experience compared to the other 2. I don't think Boonsak or HY can beat LD in decent shape, but certainly put up a good fight...
Well if he meets SWH, problem. At least if he can reproduce his All England performance, the match against LCW was absolutely great!
Well, day 1 passed and LD eased past Srikanth. All seeded entries lost except SWH, which points towards the expected final between those two players. That will indeed be a considerable test of LD form, facing a strong player in a big final after having played 9 matches in 11 days or so. Keep up the streak LD!
