Yeah, alright cool. I don't think its good tho. I liked it when it was just the finalists. It's not the WC.

Is it a good idea to have the 3rd-place finishers on the podium as well ? Can't think of any negatives, unless the players have gone home or flew off to the next tournament, then the one or pair who remains would look a bit odd.

Rousing applause for the winners, when they finally hold the flag -and the plate- between them.

A lot of Japanese pride being expressed this year! Great for the game! :)

Bedlam, as the world No. 1 MS player is announced into the arena.

I really appreciate the feel of this tournament, the way it's been organized, with a touch of zen in simplicity and elegance. And the Japanese crowd has been very encouraging and supportive, not too noisy, certainly not boisterous, much less hostile, not at all, but cheering and applauding with respectful enthusiasm; not only that, the crowd turnout has been very healthy, almost full house day in day out. Kudos to the organizer and the BWF.

C'mon, Hu Yun, go all out to win the 1st game even if you've difficulty lasting three sets.

Alas, LCW is on fire and wants to finish his opponent off in two quick games, it seems...

The ol`Met Gym has probably never experienced so much excitement among spectators, before! They are beginning to really loosen up now, and finding their voices! :D

LCW is repeatedly catching Hu Yun down the forehand side with his smashes. On balance, I`d say Hu Yun looks not on balance. :D

To be fair, Hu Yun has got a lethal smash, it's just that LCW is up to defending it, unlike JOJ.

Look at that, Hu Yun's superb attacking play to win that point.

Here`s a question for you knowledgeable types out there:

These large indoor gyms have high ceilings and steel girders and rafters and such, right.

So... has there ever been a time that one of the players has had a resident pigeon (or sparrow, or whatever) drop a, uh.... gift on him while he`s busy with a smash or return or whatever.

Hu Yun is playing well. he needs to cut out his mistakes and stay confident. I think those two are his biggest problems. unforced errors and loses a lot of confidence when he's making them

A decent 1st game from Hu Yun, if you're not asking for more.

Apart from that, I can't see a negative either. Even with a third place, the presence of those players in the tournament and around on finals day should be good.

I think the 2nd will be much closer. Hu needs to focus on his quality.
